PROS:
  • we dont have to wait for gamescon for bad cellphone vids!
  • more transitional animations which makes the movement more realistic
  • Lakers mid court line is actually purple this time
  • cant tell but the shorts seems less baggy
CONS:
  • body types seems to be the same as last years...no wingspan (Gasol)
  • same crowd animation
  • PS move lol
overall i liked what i saw especially the animation part of the game...not seeing much canned animation except maybe that Bynum drive and from the look of that move he didnt move his pivot foot as well

anybody here with keen hearing? im curious if Steve Kerr can be heard...

all i wanted to see in 2k12 was walk up animations back in the game. Doesn't look like theyr in this year but still too early i guess......

Why are walk-up animations so freaking important?

I like it. I want to see a better lighting and a brighter court though.

Excellent!! NBA 2K11.5 this year. 2K11 needs bunch of fixes. Maybe 11.5 we get what we`ve been waiting for.

Please 2K don`t take MJ away.

You guys should know that this was on Casual/Arcade mode, and obviously, is a VERY early build. Some astute observations here though; that's why I love reading you guys.

As someone who was a little (a lot actually) hesitant about the Move initially, I'm not anymore. I think we nailed it this year. It's a hybrid of coach mode and controlling where passes go and when shots are taken. I, honestly, REALLY enjoy playing this mode.

Thanks for watching. Can't wait until we release more. For those who thought we would take a year off with no competition, think again.

I noticed that they fixed the color of the half court line this year.

Wasn't really expecting too see raw gameplay of the game this early in the process so it was a nice little surprise.

Anxious to see what you guys have came up with as an encore for what's already a great game. You can already see the polish being applied.

Not much can be taken from this video but I did notice a couple small things.

Interior play on both sides looks improved (look at the Bynum sequence and the post d by Gasol on Bosh throughout the video)

I noticed the amount of signature ball handling anis were reduced a bit with the dribble system getting an overhaul for 2k11, but I already noticed a couple new ones (D Fish at 2:12) along with some new idle dribble anis which were largely absent in last years game.

Also liked the move by Joel Anthony (assuming it's a new sig gather) even though it didn't fit the player. Loved the idea in 2k11, and some of the gathers were nice, but far too many of them didn't blend with the rest of animation system, and others just were flat ugly and ineffective.

I've been a member on this site for nearly 9 years, and I still haven't developed the observation ability that most of the posters here have LOL. I'm actually envious. They can take something out of a 30 second clip with one view that would take me having to watch that same clip at least 10 times LOL.

As long as you guys brought back the walk the ball animation, revamped on ball defense, and allowed for more physics/momentum based contact, I'll be happy. I could care less about any graphical or presentation improvements at this point.

I´m so disappointed to see that the jump shots are not back to the way pre 2k10. Still looks like super fast releases with absolute no control over the release point. Gutted.

Honestly, IMO, this game looks exactly the same to me every single year. The player movement/animations are way to robotic for me. I don't understand why it can't be more fluid.

# 55 blues rocker @ 06/07/11 11:37 AM
to anyone who complains that it looks too similar to 2k11...you just can't expect to see a drastic difference from year to year, especially when there wasn't much wrong with 2k11. 2k11 did so many things right, it's a good thing that they don't change much.

player models and graphics are going to look mostly the same because as long as they're working with the same systems there isn't a lot they can improve with the graphics considering that the current systems have pretty much maxed out what they can do.

and animations are going to be mostly the same year to year because a player is supposed to do a layup a certain way and dribble ball a certain way and 2k already had them doing it correctly in 2k11. other than smoothing out some movements and tweaking some minor things, you really can't expect to see a huge difference in look from 2k11 to 2k12...and that's a good thing!

The graphics look EXACTLY the same...

Damn Kobe coming out to JKwon? Really? Is this 2K12 or 2K2?

Not enough to judge anything yet, other than I really have no interest in motion control for these types of games.

What the hell was this?

after watching the video, i do notice more smoothness to the animations. more subtle movements like when players receive the ball and even some slightly different contextual passing animations. overall the animations and transitions are smoother looking.

Bosh's turnaround jumper from the post up did look much quicker and more responsive...this is good, the post moves were a bit too delayed and sluggish in 2k11.
