UPDATE: The chat has completed, check out the comments for some of the details. The Gaming Tailgate has posted some of the details that they found.

Quote:
  • The demo will feature two match-ups (TBA) that will allow users to unlock five Nike Pro-Combat uniforms. The other five will be available for EB Games/GameStop pre-orders. However, Producer Ben Haumiller disclosed that the pre-order uniforms will be made available at a later date for all NCAA 12 gamers.
  • There is no current release date for the demo, but it is expected to be available after E3, which is held in early June.
  • Executive Producer Roy Harvey visited the set and announced a new feature: Coach Mode. This mode will allow users to call the plays and pre-snap adjustments while watching the CPU execute the plays in a broadcast style camera.
  • A new screenshot was shown, featuring a night game between Alabama vs. LSU.

Straight garbage. Why in hades do you cut out YOUR BIGGEST NEW ADDITION in online and OD Play???

That is indescribably awful. Sucks all of the atmosphere out of playing your opponent.

It's available in OD games. Just not in ranked, and random online games.

The rationale is valid--forcing gamers to sit through intro's during random ranked games will lead to nothing but problems.

If this is so, I finally understand why the game is not at the level it should be at by now.

There is this disconnect between how the Gaming community defines things and how the Dev's defines things.

According to Ben, Hardcore Franchise Sim's are those that play from a Coach/Watch point of view. (not an attack, just pointing out the way he defined HFS)

I can't find one thread/post by those (me included) who have been asking for this playable point of view since Madden added it, to be injected in this manner.

Not one post asking for this view to be injected in this manner.

If you're going to inject this camera view in a manner that is totally opposite from those who've actually been asking for it, why include?

If it's in, that means "Somebody" chose to Locked it so that the Thumber's can't utilize it.

UNLOCK the camera view for all!!!

What's so hard about making injections Optional for gamers to choose?

Also, what's up with the questions they choose to ask/answer?

3 questions about maskcots
Help me to see the point of these questions!

The game looks good, but to choose which gamers get to enjoy Broadcast Camera view, and exlude the others.... (after 3 years of community begging!!!)

I'm trying to comprehend how an agreement, could come to inject it this way.

are you sure? the entrances weren't in user vs. user games in OD in NCAA 11. In games versus the CPU(which are offline, even in OD), yes they are there.

it sounded like he was trying to say the issue is with sync/connectivity problems, although I could have misheard it.

The broadcast cam won't be a success if they don't open it up to any and all game modes. It'll be a "hidden" feature for coach moders only. Dumb!

But at least there WILL be a coach mode. Remember all the talk about how AWR ratings are nullified if you play the game? Now, AWR comes into play a lot more when setting your depth chart. When in coach mode, you can't play your way around a poor AWR rating for a QB. The upperclassmen will now have the edge they deserve.

Hasn't Coach Mode been in the game? I mean, technically at least. You can play and call a whole game, and as soon as the play starts, don't press anything. This allows the CPU to control all movements. I don't really see what the big deal is, unless they somehow incorporate somehow in Dynasty Mode.

Russell Sheppard doesn't play defense...

At the end of the day, they need Mike to be in one of these developer chats before the game releases. Since he is the brains behind the actual game play.

3 interviews this week and it is pretty obvious Ben is just the hype man and only know the answers to general common knowledge type of questions.

Therefore I hope they get Mike in chat one of these days for he can answer our game play questions........

Because Ben don't know the answer and Russ don't know the answers either, that isn't their area of the game.

So just have a chat with Mike for an hour and let him answer the game play questions. Because you know, game play is more important then presentation.

Kind of like when you go to the hospital feeling sick, you don't want to talk to the nurse, you want to talk to the doctor.

OS wants to talk to Mike.

Oh yeah an important thing that I think people over looked.......

Ben said it will only be 2 teams in the demo this year.

Not to sound rude or anything, but why does everyone want a broadcast camera? By my knowledge, that's the camera from the side of the field instead of behind the QB as the current camera is. How is it even possible to play a game from that angle? It just seems impossible to be able to play a game viewing the field from that angle. I'm not bashing people who want it at all. I just don't understand why everyone is up in arms over it when the 5 or 6 guys I play this game with cannot for the life of us figure out what the benefit to the camera is.

I thought he said 2 match-ups? which would mean 4 teams.

Because it is playable after some practice and offers a more authentic experience in terms of presentation. Guys like me want everything to appear on the game like it does on TV. Replays, cameras, dreads, etc. Those matter big time to us and really add to the experience.

Off topic, but while typing this I had the idea of in real life, they had the camera view placed like it is in game via sky cam. Would that not be cool?

yeah, I don't get it either. I thought the whole point of the broadcast cam was for coach mode(or to spectate the cpu vs. cpu). I find it hard to believe people actually want to play the game from that angle.

I can see it for basketball, soccer, or hockey, but not for football.

# 54 Gotmadskillzson @ 05/13/11 08:58 PM
The same reason people who play NBA 2K or MLB The Show from broadcast cam. Some people just like it that way because it looks the way it does when you watching a game on tv.

# 55 Watson @ 05/13/11 09:00 PM
I don't think I could play a real, AA or Heisman difficulty game with a broadcast cam

I'm pretty sure either ESPN, or CBS has begun to do this. They place it behind the QB, and either slowly pan out, or go back to the broadcast camera. It definitely looks neat when they do this.

I missed the Stream. At what time does the New Photo come up in the video

I forgot about that. It must not have shown anything worthwhile.

I want the camera to be in sideline view in Coach mode, not broadcast view. Sidelines adds more realism to mode.

# 60 goalieump413 @ 05/13/11 09:18 PM
Because of the spacing of the OL and DL players, it would be next to impossible to "play" from the broadcast camera angle. For a running play, you couldn't see the hole to run through.

And I think the cable driven robotic cameras the networks use were probably inspired by video games like NCAA and Madden. It give a perspective you see when playing the video game, which is how much of the football fan base becomes aware of the game.
