Looked like smarter zones are definitely the way to go this year.

Couple more things:
  • Did anyone punt? Didn't see it, and I hope they improved that ridiculous coverage problem
  • Were there any Superman DL/LB leaps?

Yes there was a punt.

No the superman leap seems to be gone. Thank God.

For you maybe, but I doubt the average causal fans play dynasty more than 3-5 seasons(if that much).

I'm sure Dynasty mode will receive a good bit of attention as well, but it's hard to deny the popularity of a BAP mode when it's done right.

I agree.
Even though I am a big RTG and BAP/MP player, Dynasty should be the priority.
Unless they add a high school season and RTG Online where players play certain positions, people will be disappointed. I wont, but alot will
But if anyone says it doesnt deserve to improved, IT and Dynasty barely has been touched since Current gen . Just like Franchise mode in Madden

So to the people who watched it...based on just this stream, would you drop $65 on it? It seems the consensus is 'meh' which is disappointing. Have they reverted back to the good 'ol (bad 'ol) NCAA team that we love to hate?

agreed.
There are alot of gamers who only plays probably only 1-2 seasons. then trades it in for MAdden. So it is good to have depth. BAP modes are gaining popularity.
At least Both modes are seemed to be improved. In the Past and Madden, Both games are best suited for Play Now Games only

The result may be "meh" but that was the best case scenario. I am still holding out for information on dynasty mode.

I think when you have a game that is improving from a gameplay front you have to play it to really understand if it's a major improvement.

I just got home, is it worth reading this whole thread? Can anyone sum it up for me?

# 151 illwill10 @ 05/11/11 09:21 PM
Hopefully "later in the month for Dynasty info" means next week or the following monday at the lastest Especially since it comes out 5 weeks earlier than Madden. I think Both MAdden and NCAA should release there Offline Mode Blog in the same week. These blogs for some will confirm preorders then, rather than later.

Agreed. It's tough to tell gameplay changes without actually playing it.

Presentation is also actually tough to tell too b/c we were watching an SD internet stream.

Dynasty info is really what will make or break the game for me

No, but he did mention a coach going over to West Viginia and that coach playing style being represented.

No. Some might say Ben was hinting it while he was discussing the playbooks. Hopefully so. We will know "later this know"

^^
I wouldn't base any decision after watching 2 5min quarters...one of which was played by a guy who I would likely beat by 50+ points. Roll Out cheese, Ben should have started sending CB blitzes or DE contain.

However since I had the ability to rewatch the video I watched the UF vs FSU game and paid attention to the D-Line. Ben always controlled the DT or DE, I did notice several times he was able to use a swim move with the DT and get by the Guard...We didn't notice it because the CPU threw a quick slant one time and the other he was picked up by the RB in help.

Another instance I noticed was when he controlled the DE and attempted to speed rush the RT. As he flared out the RT took a good angle and pushed him further outside causing the DE to slip to the ground while still moving forward. I think this animation was in the game last year but I don't remember seeing it much, but I just saw it in 10-12 plays of defense. Personally I think the players should slip and fall more than what has happened in the past.

I don't see how anyone can say for sure. If you can then you have already made up your mind before this video.

Didn't the community as a whole think that NCAA 11 was good? With the improved defense and tackling this year, (which were 2 of my biggest issues with the series) I find what I have seen to be encouraging.

There were a lot of positives in the video, and some negatives as well. I guess I just don't understand why people think that core issues with the engine are going to be fixed every year. Its not gonna happen. They can be tweeked and improved but not fixed.

This gen is almost over. So you can either deal with what we have now or you can't. (nothing wrong with either way) There isn't gonna be a new engine this gen so we won't see monumental improvements.

I anticipate with them reintroducing coaches on the sideline CC may be the major thing added to dynasty. Probably the only major thing added if so I'm OK with it if it's done right.

I dont think he was hinting, because the questions was something along the lines of.

"have you changed the playbooks?" or "how have the playbooks been changed"

So im pretty sure he was just answering the Q by stating since there was a move in real life WVU playbook will have an updated playbook to reflect that move.

Fingers still crossed on CC though, just have to wait for the next info release regarding Dynasty.

He was not hinting at it in my opinion. Someone asked the question whether or not playbooks got updated this year and he said yes they basically have to update playbooks every year due to coaching changes. As an example he mentioned West Virginia's new OC and how their playbook will reflect the change.

It is still possible that CC has made it in, but his comment today has no bearing on it.

I know some people hate when people talk about dreads, but for the people that do care about dreads - what is your reaction to them?

I'm a big proponent of the dreads for realism (judge me if you must) and I will likely be taking dreads off of most of the players based on how they looked in the video.

It is what it is, how dreads look isn't going to make or break whether or not I get the game; but it is disappointing to see how they look. It's like asking for coaches on the sideline, finally hearing you got them, only to find out that they all look the exact same and it's a giant fat white guy. Kind of a buzzkill.

For those of you who don't actually read posts and need a summary:
"Disappointed in the way dreads look, not going to ruin the game or determine whether or not I buy it."
