No one's going to call you negative. As long as you find your football satisfaction in Backbreaker, it's all good!

I think you make a good point, but it wouldn't translate well in-game IMO. I think in videogames, the QBs are a little more stationary than they are in real-life (they're more apt to be standing still). I don't know how good it would look -- unless you mean just to bend them slightly and not as much as in the pics.

I've only played a total of 10 games maybe with friends on madden 11.
Played around with it this morning. The players don't collide like I said, but the ballcarrier will put his head down and attempt to push the pile consistently.

i am not hyped at all, i already know i am buying it day 1. I can look past the gimmick player movements.

i have put in, easily 100 hrs with madden 11 maybe 50 of those editing it, and it plays well now, but if they deliver on the tease of having franchise rating edits, editable tendencies, i definately can see myself playing this with a hyped feeling of football games are back......

Good job EA

Haven't been this hyped for Madden in a long time

I'm going to have to second this to the nth degree.

Played around with it this morning. The players don't collide like I said, but the ballcarrier will put his head down and attempt to push the pile consistently.

The QB movement on APF is SPOT ON. Their posture. Their bounce. The way they transition from scramble to stationary. The setting of the feet to throw. The release. They nailed it. And I have the game for PS3, which is a crappy port that runs at 30fps. I can only imagine how it looks on 360 at 60fps. I can only imagine how it would look if they actually put effort and money into the game, which they didn't.

Not turning this into a 2K debate, just saying that I don't agree that Madden has to go the route they did with the QB animations because it translates better in a videogame. Let's call a spade a spade. The QB animations look the way they do in Madden, because animating is so far from their forte, it's ridiculous.

On the collision with the line thing. Yes, they do that bull charge to push the pile animation, which is nicer visually than Mario running, but it still equates to same thing for me basically. The runner is stuck on the back of the O-Line. He will eventually squeeze off, but it doesn't work the way I would like, and it doesn't work like in 2K. It's better, but not 2K. That's all I'm saying.

In 2K as soon as your running back contacts a lineman, it triggers a couple of "get off of him" animations. One, he just turns sideways, or "gets skinny" and quickly slides past. The other he puts a hand on the back of the lineman and maneuvers past him. Both are instantaneous and you never even get to think about being stuck for even a millisecond. . In Madden it isn't. You will eventually squeeze through, unlike the past Mario running, but it takes longer and you can easily be tackled.

I'm not saying it isn't in the game, I just was answering the original question on it. The person asked if it's like 2K, and again, it isn't. Same result, but 2 different implementations. The Madden one I don't like nearly as much, but of course it is much more preferable to Mario running.

The trailer did nothing for me. I'm just one that has to see the game being played to really get excited.

I can't wait for E3 to come so I can see actaul gameplay. This way I can see if the animations are smooth , and see how the A.I is.

Once I get to witness that. Then I can express my emotions

It's perfect for the situation, but the animation itself is terrible. His legs are almost going through each other.

It's weird. The extraneous things, like the cheerleader dances, have pretty smooth animations, yet somehow the most important aspects of the game, like player movement, do not.

I don't know what to say other than to say that Madden is a bizarrely developed game.

Agreed. Right now Im being hopefull that the animations look smoother when I see a actual game being played.

It is the only NFL game, so if the A.I is improved. I will pruchase the game. I have a group of friends that play sim football all the way, so I fine with Madden as long as it keeps improving.

We had a good time with Madden 11, so if 12 exceeds 11 we will be fine.

I no longer compare , because it is pointless. My views are simple for now. Can my friends and I make this work, if yes then we shall battle.

Right now we just want smoother animations, and improved A.I. Anything else would be considered extra.

You would be surprised how a game can work and be fun when playing with the right people

I'm a defensive guy, but right now the edge rushing is cool, but old animations keep it from achieving its potential....maybe I have to just see more video

The animations REALLY need to be worked on. And player models.

I like how contact is recognized after the ball carrier attempts to dive at :26

Gameplay should def be improvement, the only animation I hope does not make it to the game or should be fixed is the bowling ball animation when a HB falls forward 4-5 yards after being hit & you can't stop the momentum...

Line play still looks terrible.

At least the tackling looks improved.
