NCAA Football 12 News Post

Check out the new NCAA Football 12 blog, written by Roy Harvey, Executive Producer of NCAA Football 12.

Another season is upon us and the countdown begins. Over the next 90 days you’ll be hearing about everything we’ve put into NCAA Football 12 and we hope you’ll like what you’re going to see. It represents months of deep development and the next serious step in innovation that we initiated last year with NCAA Football 11.

I have no major announcements today, but I can say that our focus and fundamental strategy hasn’t changed. It’s still all about the three key elements I described in my blog last year “A New Game Plan”; Core Experience, Authenticity, and Innovation.

The community feedback we’ve received on ’11 through emails, forums, and surveys has been encouraging and I’m happy to report that we’ve incorporated many of these requests into the newest edition.

Starting with the core, we continue to acknowledge and agree that gameplay is what matters most. The engine we share with our brothers on Madden is getting some big upgrades and improvements that we will customize and tune for the right collegiate feel. You can also expect another big push on the defensive side of the ball this year. Other than that, there’s not much more I can say just yet. But please be patient, there are definitely “under the hood” details ahead in the coming weeks.

With regard to authentic presentation, we are making a big push in this area as well because it’s a huge part of what college football means -- the passion, pageantry, and tradition is like no other sport in the world (FIFA comes close…). You may have caught a few of the rough iPhone screenshots released so far, but the better looking stuff is coming in the next few days. Here are a few minor details I can share now for my Michigan brethren. At least in the virtual world I can put them in the Rose Bowl this year.

New Big House stadium lights are also in and ready to go…

Another minor item to start planning for – you’ll be able to fully customize entrance music this year, so get your tracks ready…

Finally, with regards to online, the response to NCAA Football 11’s online dynasty mode has been outstanding, so expect some interesting news here in as we get closer to launch.

In closing, on behalf of the team I’d like to thank all the fans who’ve written in with suggestions and comments. While we can’t possibly get to the thousands of ideas that have come in, we do take your feedback very seriously when designing the game and work to get as much in as time and resources will allow. From big ideas to the little things like dreads, bowl patches, band placement, uniform details, and mascot changes – everything contributes to realism and authenticity – and they all came from you. So please keep the cards and letters coming…

Keep the faith, real news is up ahead!

Roy

No Pac-10 team has a conference logo on their field that's why you didn't get one. The point is they took off the WAC logo contradicting your earlier comment

lol. pwnd. anyway its clear that guy has an agenda, so its best we all ignore him.

The customizable entrance music idea is . I might just have to use VT so i can use enter sandman on their entrance.

Man even the little things of NCAA 12 has gotten me ecited this year...now if only we get the reverse colored nike vapors....

for all the Va Tech fans, we know you have Enter Sandman in your entrence, but (not to burst your bubble) Toledo also has it and i would love to hear the same thing or even hear Hells Bells when the other team is on third down, and can we have music in between quarters because i miss playing as Ohio State and not hearing the band play Hang On Sloopy (the tbdbitl version)

Va Tech knows other schools play it. But VT is the one known for it. Watching Toledo's entry on TV won't get me psyched like watching VT's entry on TV, even though I'll be enrolled at UT in a couple of years.

power to the people! We asked for it and we got it.....custum entrance soundtracks! I am one of those that spends hours setting up tracks. I hope they give us alot more stadium sound slots, I try to get all the stadiums rockin but the limited slots make it hard to do what I want with it. The bowl patches are pretty cool, I really want the 1AA schools in

I know it's weird I didn't notice it until I started a dynasty with a TB team in the pac-10 and I got nothing so someone on here let me know that for whatever reason they're the only conference without them.

Interesting note though someone posted a pic of the new Oregon field here http://www.operationsports.com/forum...updates-4.html and they now have pac-10 logos so hopefully that will be updated this year

You know NCAA is getting up there with the other stellar sports titles when the main thing people complain about are cleats and facemasks.

To bad Virginia Tech's football skills are not as awesome as their entrance lol I love watching them lose. Good thing for video games and better that James Madison is not in it lololol

This game has come a LONG way in just under 2 years.

NCAA went from Madden's geeky teenage brother who just received hand-me-downs to the cooler college kid.

Didn't know that. Doesn't excuse my jerseys with the WAC logo though.

Sorry I don't study every blog ever dude. You must be better than me. +1 internet for you dude.

No agenda either. God forbid someone voices that what they've seen so far is not worth buying.

What could they be possibly avoiding when he clearly said thats what they are working and on and will be released "in the coming weeks".

Its like you skipped straight the first post w/out actually reading anything.

That quote in the bold has me excited..I am glad they finally realize things like season showdown can't be a college football game's main "feature", or any game really. This week is is going to be great!

Is this a big feature to those outside of vt? Probably not but this, bowl patches and dreads were in big demand a year ago so it shows that once again they are listening to us.

I truly hope this game play is worth it because Michigan looks very wack in that picture. They don't even look different. Same adidas 2006 cleats. But I trust that the game developers will work with all this time that they have. Most of all, I hope there are some new catching animations or even better...some kind of physics. The fans are waiting for the breakthrough guys.

Bowl patches, dreads, and entrance music don't hold a candle to custom playbooks.
