lol, you can't be serious, of course those additions were worth it they are what makes 2k11 the best of the series and Sports game of the year.

i believe that 2k12 will build on the solid foundation 2k11 set down fix up those little mistakes and keep the classic teams (maybe add a few ) and 2k12 should be a success

- When I contest a shot perfectly, the ball shouldn't go through my hand just because the game decided the shot must go in.
- When a two-player animation starts, the eight other players on the court should slide and morph out of the way so the animation can be completed.
- When I get bumped by my defender I shouldn't have to stubble back five feet and take five dribbles before my player regains his balance.
- When I perform the behind-the-back action on the controller there shouldn't be a 2 second delay before my player actually dribbles behind his back.

These are just a handful of the countless fundamental issues that I encounter multiple times every game (some of them occur every possession). I'm not complaining about arms morphing through torsos or anything of that nature because that doesn't detract from the quality of gameplay. The things I mentioned do.
M'man, you are spot on, and I couldn't agree more. I personally can't take another year of the many issues you've addressed and the sluggish controls.

I don't think we're talking about the same thing. I really don't have time to go back and clarify my points.

The fact that these issues reoccur year after year kills me too. I mean, can't they just take the time to get it right for once?

Why don't you teach them how to do it right since you are a computer programer/game designer, because I am sure they leave flaws in the game just for fun or ignorance. Basketball will always be one if not the hardest game to replicate, because how do you program heart and determination and true player abilities and tendencies is that even possible, how do you create a simulated D Rose or Kobe, how do you make something that has no real physical presence act and respond like it does, everything is not cut and dry and every year they will continue to figure out how to overcome previous short comings but expecting to see perfection and a true to life replication is no where near possible at this time.

Woooooooow. This is all that needs to be said, period. Best response I've seen so far on this thread. If this was Facebook, I'd like this, remove my like, and like it again and repeat the process until myspace gets popular. Apply no homo wherever applicable.

As most people know, the only reason there is to not liking 2K, is

A. You suck
B. You'd rather be dunking from the free-throw line with Andrew Bynum and love watching the nets go up before the ball gets there.

This isn't NBA Jam and it's not NBA Live 2005. It makes me wonder, if people think a sim basketball video game, is good graphics and realistic faces. 2K is going to absolutely destroy EA, you really think 2K even considers them competition, seriously. 2K gradually improves their games year by year, and will continue to do so. Keep in mind, Madden is falling off, and 2K can't make a football game, I'm sure they've been really upset about that since 2005.

Yes there are things that need to be improved, but I swear you'd think people would realize it's a video game. People are asking for Jack Nicholson on the sideline, or post game interviews with players talking off a script.

Passing is good in this game, not perfect but good. Dribbling is perfect, too many people complaining about isomotion moves cause they can't do em. I seriously think people need to jump in practice mode and stay there for 5 hours, instead of jumping straight into games.

Most of you aren't good anyway, and just need practice. If you'd notice, none of the great 2K users, such as myself, complain about anything.

It´s funny how 2K always have to overperform to get credit for their efforts while EA can put out a pressrelease and fanbays are shouting "EAs game is going to rule"... Track records show otherwise....
If anything, 2K is the only videogame basketball creator that deserves a confidence stamp.

If you want to crush the competetion 2K, throw college basketball into the NBA2K game. Licensefees could be too much though.

Don't forget a certain publisher will also be sure to leave certain features out of the the game such as online access and certain other game features that should have shipped with the game out of the box so that they can charge you for those same features later. Of course the fanboys will continue to thank this publisher while they continue to nickel and dime us each chance they get. Is it not bad enough because of them we have advertisements in the game now?

wow 2 years hiatus away from bb If I was EA I would just release a new NCAA basketball game and not worry about competing against 2k13

How confident am I in 2k?? VERY!!! For my sim experience, i will play 2k, for my arcade experience i want to play NBA street (please bring this back)

I wish my man Czar was still doing those videos...that has to be one of the most unbiased reviewers I have ever seen. He clearly illustrated the things both games got right and the things they got wrong, however, it seemed to be that at least going back to 2009, 2k was declared the victor when he tallied up all the categories score that he judges the game by. In some categories, the score wasnt even close.. If you havent seen his videos, i suggest you go to youtube...the evidence is all there for you to see

The competition is needed with these games....Madden has been simply awful with no competition and the only people that suffer is the consumer.

Video basketball is in great hands with 2K. I'm looking forward to EA's return though, because competition is a good thing.

EA Sports has put the last nail in the coffin. I don`t believe EA is going waste more time and resources on making a decent NBA sim game. On the other hand, they could bring back arcade games like NBA Streets, Homecourts... and keep releasing NBA JAMs every year... just to say "ok, we are still in the game" lol
About 2KSports, I don`t believe they are going to be lazy and release low quality sim games from this year on just because EASports failed. They know they have a legacy on NBA games and to keep that up, they need to improve every single year.

Dude. They are HIRING folks for the EA team. Not laying off. Why would you think they would be laying people off? They have a game to make. If they had a staff surplus, I think they would have tried to get a game out this year. If there is an NBA lockout, this would be the year they COULD skip, right?

# 56 statum71 @ 04/06/11 10:51 AM
I'm confident 2K12 will be just fine. The competition is on-hold not gone.

Besides.....I think 2K prides themselves in basketball.

There is a difference between no competition due to the fact that you bought exclusivity and no competition because you create the better game, and the fact there is a loyal following that would be excited if EA just put out a article describing all the things that will never be in their NBA game.

Umm duh, 2K Basketball...Winning! Im confindent in NBA2K12 because from what ive seen year to year the devs have always made strides in there basketball game. Many fans have felt ever since NBA2K7 that 2K has had the best basketball game over NBA Live and the devs knew this, but they did not get lazy the past few years. NBA2K11 was great leap from NBA2K10. NBA2K12 will be great. Now if only 2K could get that damn NFL license again......

Totally agree right here. 2k11 is the ****. But Elite not coming until next year? Wow they must be really in-trouble.

im ok with all those above mentioned shotting jumpshots. I love the midrange game. its players like with ratings 50 and below(midrange) being able to hit them with consisitency.
