MLB 11 The Show News Post

Okay everyone...this is the initial release of the Operation Sports Full Minors.

We'll call this one the "Spring Training" version.
I will caution that the MLB should be entirely correct and the minor league levels will be a bit "raw" until the actual minor league teams get their assigned players and we can incorporate it.

The lineups are projected...a lot from you and a lot from other sources...for the "Opening Day" set...they will be more precise.
The minor league lineups will be set when their season begins.
We will also fine tune the FA list for the Opening Day set if necessary in the second release.

*************NOW HEAR THIS....NOW HEAR THIS...************

I have never reported a post. NEVER. I have no "ban hammer" mod status either. But I'm just putting this out there right now......that if there is one post that that in any way demeans one of the editors....by saying "this is ridiculous"...."what a joke"....or anything that isn't presented as a constructive criticism or suggestion I will bring on my own version of an e-nuclear bomb. If it's my work...blast away, but these guys have done a TREMENDOUS job in getting this set out in "record" time....and IMO each and every one has done top notch work.
You can criticize....but keep it polite...that's all I ask.

Each and every one of these guys deserves a hand......and Ridin' and I couldn't have done it without them this year.
In no particular order
alexbraun, the blackbra, bodhiball, TNKNGM, sink4ever, El Mayimbe, oldgoldnblue767, sweett310, Vin, theaub, CWPalehose, tribefanisu2003, PSULions, GreatNorther47, Karle, Ivanhoe, Rwings, mhag4f, cnelly, bergie56, juicer240, MNPuckett, Apostle, Throwback, WB1214, ltw0303cavs, authentic, KJWilliams, TripleThreat, athomp, SergioRodriguez13, bdolski, Qb, ChaseB, GoBucs, tree3five, ilstu, GTATrifecta, slthree, cmorris25, nkrause, franch1se....and I simply cannot stress enough how much Ridin' did once again on this set. Everyone....TREMENDOUS WORK
That being said....this is also the first time we've had so many hands working on this and it's tough to catch anything and everything that might be noted when it's just a few guys working on it. We'll need a little latitude towards errors that would need fixing....

I also want to thank Steve_OS and of course Operation Sports for allowing us a venue to bring our work to ...and have others share in it. Kudos all around.....

....and finally ...thanks to you guys for all your feedback and patience throughout the process.

Okay....now the nice thing about a "beta" release is being able to fix things and with player import...that's easier than ever. So we will be open to hearing suggestions and fixes. Bring it to our attention and we will fix it.

OFFSHOOT
Here is a link to the O.S.F.M with only 25 players on the 40 man rosters...this will be your first step in no lineup shuffling ....with either 1 team or 30 team control. Keep in mind....with 1 team control...there is no way to add the 15 players to the 40 yourself...and with 30 team control, you'll have to do it on DAY 1 of the regular season(or any time after before the Rule V draft)...
Thanks to HUSTLIN' OWL for these!

http://www.sendspace.com/file/xu89ou

Here is how to keep the CPU from shuffling your lineups
There are 3 ways with using 30 team control.
First...you must create a profile that gives the lineups/rotations MANUAL for any team you want lineups to be under your control.

1.- Use a roster that has only 25 players on the 40 man roster. Hustlin' Owl has created one and the link is above...With this....if you use only 1 team control......you are locked into having the CPU teams having no more than 25 men on the 40 man roster. If you use 30 team control at any time AFTER spring training is over...you can add the 15 players to the 40 man roster and the CPU will not juggle lineups/rotations. In all cases....the CPU will still sub in lineups for fatigue

2.-Using a roster with the 40 man roster full....play/sim Spring Training until the day BEFORE the final day of ST.....go through each team and manually send down 15 players(make sure none are in any lineups/rotation) for the CPU teams.....No need to take them off the 40 man roster. The lineups will remain intact when going into the season now.

3.-The obvious....wait until DAY 1 of the regular season and set the CPU team lineups/rotations....they will stay and only be changed for fatigue.....be aware...you will have to reset them due to injuries for the CPU teams...

Here is how to manually injure players
-You must put INJURIES on MANUAL....and INJURY MANAGEMENT on AUTO for the CPU teams(if one team control...it is already on AUTO)
-Go to the DISABLED LIST.....Use L2/R2 to cycle through the teams(1 team or 30 team control)...use the L1/R1 button to go to the roster for injuring players....click on a player and give him an injury....
-With 30 team control...if you have injury management on AUTO...the CPU should put the player on the DL.....you can do it by going back to the DISABLED LIST screen and placing them yourself. With just 1 team control.....the CPU will put the injured player on the DL...you cannot do it yourself.

at the risk of getting blasted my the roste makers and the forum, what is going on with the yankees lineup, jeter batting 6th, cano batting 2nd, granderson in A, when he was on the opening day roste. I just want to clarify what the team did, were the players re-named and rerated with stances and pitches only? and line-ups not touched? or is the yankee line-up the only issue with the line-ups? also knigh said that the minors werent done yet, but im confussed as to why the best yankee prospects are in a ball, is this the case with the other teams as well? because if i start a chise with the 25 man ******, then all the best players in the farm will stay in a ball. Im not trying to rip anyone because i know the effort that was put in but i would just like a little clarifi***ion please. thanks

It has nothing to do with the people who took time out of their lives to make the ****** for you. The computer orders the lineup how they think it should be when you start a franchise. The computer lineup logic is funky. 30 team control is the best way to prevent weird lineups.

# 563 ilstu24 @ 04/01/11 06:06 PM
And as far as I know the minor leaguers aren't set to the appropriate level. They aren't final yet and I'm sure when they are ****** and Ridin will correct them. These aren't opening day ******s. They are a Spring Training version.

# 564 ilstu24 @ 04/01/11 06:10 PM
******, FYI Tim Wood is in the Nationals minors...save you some time from making him. He does need to be moved to Pittsburgh though.

im not talking about after chise is started, im talkin about the actual ******s, i havnt even started chise yet.

This is a pretty amazing ****** set but I just noticed one minor little thing. Whoever edited the Red Sox made Adrian Gonzalez throw right; he's left handed.

not to mention that 30 team control is not the way to go because all the best prospects are in a ball, so if i controll all 30 it will be useless unless i move every teams best prospects up, but forget about the minors because i realize they will never be perfect, i should not have even brought them up, my issue is with the ******s, but insead of givin me an answer you just got smart!!!!

Yeah, it's been mentioned a few times. I believe it's been ***ed in version 2 of the ******s.

Padres changes for next version

Cantu #3
Johnson #32
Qualls #50
Luebke #52
Gonzalez #14
Hunter #18

Luebke and Qualls swap numbers, so change one first then do the others then go back to the original.

I'm gonna have to break it down....big blocks of letters are confusing.
I do commend you for punctuation.(occasional)!

what is going on with the yankees lineup, jeter batting 6th, cano batting 2nd(question!?)
-In game?....or on the lineup screen that the editors did? In game will go by ratings and we don't touch ratings...so...?

granderson in A, when he was on the opening day roste(R)
Post 1 in this thread tells you that these are NOT opening day ******s and may be a bit raw. The editor involved obviously thought Granderson would start the season on the DL

I just want to clarify what the team did, were the players re-named and rerated with stances and pitches only?
I don't know what you mean here. Do you mean MLB players?....are you not seeing minor league players rated in every aspect ...with their faces...ratings(all ratings, not just pitches and stances)...info...all done?

and line-ups not touched?
I'm pretty sure guys and Ridin' did lineups...but again....in Post #1....these were done before Opening Day and lineups were a best guess. If it's in game and you're not controlling lineups properly, the CPU is going to change them.

knigh(T) said that the minors werent done yet, but (')im confussed as to why the best yankee prospects are in a ball, is this the case with the other teams as well?
I hate to keep bringing up Post#1...but....This is not the Opening Day set, and teams haven't set their minor league levels yet...neither did we. Spring Training set = all real players but a bit raw...Opening Day = all real players but more fine tuned.

because if i start a (FRAN)chise with the 25 man ******, then all the best players in the farm will stay in a ball.
At some point....you guys have to do a little work yourselves. This set was never intended to be used in either season or with just 25 man ******s. It's nice that Hustlin' Owl provided that...but not part of this project. If you want those guys on the MLB team...you have to move them.

Now...this is not a rip...just an observation that I find amusing.
Trust me...I'm fine with your post and you...NO PROBLEM!
Does anyone else find it ironic, that this poster wants all the ducks in a row...spot on perfect....yet his post(which took two minutes to type) is one of the sloppiest in this thread!?
Sorry....

When is ****** going to release version 6?!!
I'm kidddddinggg
But in all seriousness.
Can we anticipate the OSFM Opening Day Version tonight or tomorrow?
Or will you be holding off on that until minors ******s get set in 1 week?
And personally, I'm fine with AAA, AA, A placement being inaccurate. Especially since not all the AAA/AA hacks even made it into this set in the first place.

To anyone who is flustergated by the lineup ordering issue. Why not just set them yourself? It takes probably an hour of your time. Small price to pay.
Thanks again ******.

Honestly, ******, I don't know why you even bother taking more time out of your life to answer these types of questions and complaints. I'm all for ***ing the wrong handedness, #'s, players on the right teams, but the lineup stuff is so uncontrollable that no one should even bring it up as an issue and certainly not make it your responsibility.

Thanks to all that made these ******s happen. Greatly appreciate your hard work!

Because it may have gotten lost in the shuffle about 15 pages back:

Diamondbacks signed INF Josh Wilson to their AAA affiliate earlier this week

Just some notes on the Diamondbacks:

Bloomquist SS
Johnson 2B
Upton RF
Young CF
Miranda 1B
Mora 3B
Montero C
Parra LF

That was the lineup today, and it will probably look similar to that for a while. Bloomquist played only because Stephen Drew will miss a few days, but once he comes back, he will bat leadoff.
Miranda will probably be the primary first baseman, but Russell Branyan will get a good amount of time at first as well.
Xavier Nady will also get time in left. Slotting him in against lefties and keeping Parra in against righties will probably work fine.
I believe Aaron Heilman is listed in the ****** set as the long relief man, but he will probably be a late innings guy. I would arrange the bullpen like this:
LR - David Hernandez
MR - Kam Mickolio, Sam Demel, Joe Paterson
SU - Aaron Heilman, Juan Gutierrez
CL - J.J. Putz

Also, finally, just some quick equipment changes...Chris Young doesn't wear high socks, I would give him baggy pants. Also, Heilman doesn't wear stirrups, I would give him long pants (I think that is what they are called, whatever the style is called with the long pants that end at the top of the shoes, I don't have the game on right now sorry)

Most of the DBacks ****** is perfect in the set, these are just minor changes. I would also like to commend everyone who helped out on their great work, I can't wait to finally get my season started just like everyone else

great job all involved!!! Much appreciated.

I've tried searching 'pitch edits' and nothing comes up. I know there are a few different avenues that these ******s take and one of them is strut or someone adding pitch edits and was just wondering if there were any thoughts on that so far.

LOVE these ******s and really appreciate the hard work that goes into them!

I'm lost -
So I download ******s, but rotations and lineups are jacked up after spring training, so I need to set each time?

Also something about the 40 man ******s.

I'm so lost.

Okay...I just started a Franchise with NYY. Let me tell you how I handled it.

But first: Paragraphs make posts easier to read. I'm not making fun or anything, but just telling you based on my experience on OS. People often skip over long, non-spaced posts. I did. I only saw yours because ****** responded to it.

Now. I placed Montero and Banuelos on the 40 man in order to use them during Spring Training. Otherwise, unlike real life, they wouldn't have been "invited." Simply add them, while removing two others from the main menu. BEFORE you start up a season/franchise.

Next, I called up Granderson and sent down Dickerson. I also did the same with Feliciano (personal preference). Sending down another lefty long reliever (one of your choice, as I'm letting the other three young gun lefty relievers on the 40 man compete during spring).

Next, I placed Banuelos in AA and Montero in AAA (possibly a few others). I then placed Betances in AAA (personal preference). As a result, 3 players needed to be placed in A, in order to balance out the ******.

Next, I decided to change A.J. Burnett's windup motion back to "A.J. Burnett." Most of the Yankees have their SCEA one's, by the way. I personally think "his" is more "him" than Johnathan Sanchez (Sanchez doesn't 'turn to the outfield' during his motion like Burnett does in real life).

All of this needs to be done from the main menu BEFORE you start your season. Otherwise, options will be used for the players you are sending down.

Now, SAVE.

Go to 'Start New Season/Franchise." When it asks you which ****** you want to use, pick "Saved."

And you are readily on your way on the quest for 28.

Hope this helps man.
