Surprised Drew Brees won his matchup since he just got the cover. Also, doesn't look like people are worried about the "curse" at all. Everyone's favorite skill players moved on.
The 12th man thing was posted all over 4chan (and other forums). Lots of people voted for that option. I would have at least predicted a first round victory for the 12th man to create the illusion that this is legitimate.
Shame that none of the defensive players had a real chance at this. Orakpo 39% to Nicks's 61% and Freeney's 34% to MJD's 66%. Not even gonna speak on Ware's pitiful 24% because he was against Vick, but damn, where is the love for the other side of the ball? I mean Patrick Willis only got 54% of the votes in his bracket and he was against Seattle's 12th man.

I highly doubt it is rigged. Don't they have a contest running in conjunction with this? Rigging the vote would in essence be rigging the contest which is a big no-no. I think EA has enough to worry about then getting in trouble for fixing a silly cover contest.
Basically all the higher seeds won despite a few. I didn't like how they seeded most of the players, like Danny Woodhead getting a 4 seed over someone like Adrian Peterson who's a 9 seed. Sucks that Patrick Willis is the only defensive player. I guess now I'll be rooting for MJD, Hillis, Willis, and Charles.
Vick got the most votes out of any NFC player for the Pro Bowl last year. What makes you think this vote will be any different?
Do you really think EA wants to deal with the PETA protests and the heat they'll get from the animal loving community when they could just as easily put someone else on the cover, sell just as many games, and avoid all that?
I believe EA would love to have Vick on the cover just for the publicity. In a season where there might no football they need something (like the controversial figure Vick is) to get some attention for Madden. With Vick on the cover they'd be all over the news when the game releases. It wouldn't surprise me if they'd even pay people to publicly protest against the game. From a marketing standpoint Vick on the cover would be very clever. And seriously who wouldn't buy the game just because they don't like the player on the cover (except for some hardcore animal people, but i assume they're not EA's targeted audience anyways).

Don't think they'd go that marketing route again after Dante's Inferno.
