The biggest myth about Madden 11 is that "consecutive tackling" doesn't exist.
It DOES exist (even in Madden 10). It simply isn't activated enough because Pro-Tak is prioritized in close-quarters.
So this teaser will probably show you exactly what you want - a guy getting pummeled twice consecutively just like they do in every teaser (since it's easy to isolate animations in those conditions). But we won't know if it's actually prevalent until a gameplay demo arises.

This is true. Consecutive tackling does exit. It just simply isn't activated enough.
What I think I'll end up seeing: same style as ncaa 12 but with added onside kick, being done in slow motion, zip around matrix style to get kids attention.

Its like i have been saying it seems as if they have been adding parts to the whole, first it was pro tak , then locomotion, in my head physics would be next it brings it full circle. Physics will be used for more the interaction on two or more body parts vs 1-1 link we have now

No.. this is still more along the line of pro-tak. A consecutive hit should have more of an impact on the momentum of the player being tackled.
For instance, if a linebacker hits a running back from the side.. and a corner comes flying in straight at the ball carrier.. the running back should get knocked back violently and awkwardly. Hits should be more dynamic. The tackles in Madden are way too canned and aren't violent enough.

lol....you know what madden already has physics but it just hasnt been activated yet. they dont want to over whelm us, we cant handle football as a whole.
Apparently the teaser trailer will reassure the OS community, so I expect something sim related and tackles, OL/DL interaction has been some of the biggest areas of concern here on OS.
I don't expect physics, but some kind of collision detection that takes speed and weight (the players momentum) into account would be a fantastic teaser. Also if they show improved OL/DL interaction (big physical players dominating, proper speed rush/bull rush) that would really reassure the OS community, considering what the topics have been through out the past couple of years.
Smh all I care about is the franchise mode offline they PRoMised to improve on plz save us a paused video with ea talking about how much time they put in when in all actuality jst added 1 or 2 things like every yr
I think I'll end up seeing everyone overreact and nitpick the video to pieces.
Without a doubt. Some have the expectations that Madden won't look like, well, Madden. There will likely be an animation that people hated in M11 and they'll riot when they see it in the teaser video. Just the way it seems to go lol...
I would like to see new running animations. The running animations still looked bad last year despite the fact Ian said they had improved.
I dont know if any of you have seen the new Battlefield 3 videos. They have the best running animations I have ever seen in a game. It says in the video they used the "ANT" system from EA's FIFA 11 to create the running animations...
I will bet todays lunch (Its real good!), that within a half hour of the video launch, it will be posted on youtube and there will be a million variations of
"DOUBLE HIT TACKLES!!! WHERE'S THE GAMEPLAY!! REPACKAGED!!! BOYCOTT!!! IAN SUCKS!! REAL TIME PHYSICS , GIMMICK!!! EA IS IN TROUBLE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!"
True. We'll see some complain about the video's content and others reply to the complaints with comments that reinforce that it's early etc. etc.
I think you are forgetting the people that might praise the video and being bombarded with responses of It's about time or this should have been in yrs. ago or I'll wait for the demo.
Just a question as to what would be a better teaser video for the "sim" and the "casual" player. What do you think would go over better, a teaser video that hyped your role in picking the next cover athlete or a teaser video that introduced consecutive hit tackles?
