I guess this year we WILL finally have peace!! The long national nightmare of no long hair is FINALLY over!!

Oh and one other thing, for all you people saying "who cares about dreads", were you also the same people who thought it was just fine when all the players wore #88 on the field and were white? Were you also cool with there being no commentary and just beeps and boops because after all, commentary doesn't affect game play.

Get real, yes it's maybe a minor thing for some folks (and major for others) but it's a STEP FORWARD in getting the look of the game right. And for those of you crying about how dreads and long hair "took away from fixing the real issues", news flash for you - THE ART TEAM DOES NOT WORK ON GAME PLAY ISSUES!!!!!!!!!!. EA has come in here and said it time and time again but you people either bury your heads in the and and keep up with your ridiculous arguments or else you simply only poke your heads in here to whine and moan about some new flaw you found.

Also, for those of you who seem indifferent, I think you'll see when you get the game just how much it can really serve to make the game look less like a clone factory, as it does now, and more like a real NCAA game.

Great post...

Very nice dreads finally been in ncaa football. It looks good right now. But gameplay will say it all when the time come. But sometime in the next month I will start reserving both ncaa 12 and madden 12 like I do yearly. Can wait for the info to start flowing from both developing teams in the next week or 2. Let it begin. Can't wait.

Amazing looking screen... love the dreads, the grass, the dirt on the unis, the lighting.

Very cool stuff.

1Pic = 25 Pages of Posts Each Day... What'd happen if they showed us 5 or 6 pictures at once?

When will they post the list of the new features shown in the picture?

Some time today. It's only 7 pages for me, btw. 40 posts per ftw!

okay one more thing, I know it could be more or less tied to lighting, but with the post where it showed the first comparison picture from ncaa 2011, does anyone notice how much better the orange color looks on the uniforms? Looks as if they made the colors more vibrant, which is how it should be. One of my BIGGEST arguments in visual department on ncaa 2011 was the uniforms with yellow, gold, and orange on them looked like crap. I think the orange in this picture looks leaps and bounds better, which should overall add to the appearance of the game.

and I made one more observation that could just be the picture, or me wanting to see more than what is just there. Does anyone see #55 standing in the screen. Look at him, and then look at the defender and the guy with the ball. Anyone notice how the skin on the lineman is a lot more "smooth", while the defender and the ball carrier are more toned/shredded/muscle bound? This could be a new addition in appearance department. In years past, all linemen looked like juiced muscle heads. Looks like they may have added more fleshed out skin and skin tones. Just another observation I've made. Anyone else notice it, or is it just me?

Man every year the 1st pic of the game comes out everyone's mouth is on the floor...Until the 1st video comes out. You guys are gullible. Lets wait till the video drop to say "OMG BEST GAME EVER" once again.... We know the track record here. Hopefully it changes this year.

I HIGHLY doubt this, especially this being the next generation of consoles. And besides, its EARLY. I don't understand why people are getting bent out of shape over one picture. The gameplay things they added/changed, will be addressed to us.

Fundamentally that statement is correct. In application, it's incorrect and downright misleading.
I don't think you understand, EA is going to work on graphics every year. They can spend the whole time working on field goal nets and things people don't really care about or they can spend the time working on things that the community has been asking for.

There is not ever going to be a year where they don't work on graphics at all and only focus on gameplay. The most important point is that they have not announced anything about game play changes yet but you are on this thread about a picture complaining about something that has nothing to do with it.

At least give the guys a chance nobody is forcing you to look at this forum about NCAA or buy the game.

This. I took a bunch of heat around here during the 10' cycle. I was applauded that "Team Builder" made it in over locomotion. I said 10' would be a crappy game(and IMO I was right), but this was after I received all the important info about the game.

I have no problem with potential and/or loyal buyers calling out a product ,however maybe you should wait until all the info is out before blasting the game.

NCAA 11 was leaps and bounds better then anything this gen(which isn't saying much I admit). If NCAA 12 takes a similar leap this year we could be talking about game of the year. While I doubt it NCAA is under new leadership and after NCAA 11(which wasn't prefect) I think the new lead has earned some leeway.

It amuses me to read the numerous comments which attack the dev & marketing teams. "I DON'T CARE ABOUT DREADLOCKS! SHOW ME GAMEPLAY."

Hey, chill out dude. Why the anger over a screenshot? It seems the point of this screenshot is to show-off a little of the graphical, equipment, and personality changes. Gameplay videos will come out, just relax.

What are you mad about? I'm seriously asking you. What makes you angry about this screenshot? It looks good, it serves it's purpose, and it's an update... So again, what exactly are you angry about?

I think someone said (paraphrasing here) "this is just more fluff to cover up bad gameplay." Really guy? You know this... how? Oh you mean, you're assuming. Right. Yeah, well, we all make assumptions. It's not unlike the guy who sees the Team Builder window on the bottom right hand corner of the NCAA 12 website, and continues to convince himself that it means we'll have customizable playbooks. Even though it looks like 2011 Team Builder screen to me.

In any event, just enjoy the fact that we're seeing SOMETHING.

Haven't been in the NCAA Forum in a while...still kinda bummed that I spent 60 bucks for NCAA 11 and then my XBOX got the RROD...switched to PS3.

HOWEVER, just by going off of the early pic, graphic look pretty nice. I really love the look of the grass. I hated how in other versions of the game, it looked as if players were "floating" over the playing surface. The pic makes me wonder if the field tears up in real-time(kinda like MLB the Show or NFL 2K5). It would be a nice touch and one of those little things that adds to the overall game.

True, but NCAA 11 was well received around here. Many OSers profess it to be better than Madden, although that is subjective. I think the arrow is pointing up for NCAA.

That's because when you actually play the game it looks like this...

Dreads and possible blades of grass aren't as easy to see from this angle.

It's still early and my eyes might be deceiving me but EA seems to still have a lighting issue.... The ankle braces i.e. Miami still turn white! I know this is knit picking but it's not all about what looks good. I'll still see you in July and hopefully you guys have done your due diligence in fixing the game. Oh yeah NO MORE PATCHES ...PLEASE unless it's absolutely necessary.

Here's an idea. Release an earlier demo so you can get feedback on what needs to be fixed rather than releasing it to get Pro Combat uni's. Plus you know these uni's are gonna be out dated once the season starts!

Yes, they added/changed/tweaked gameplay last year too.

The issue is that the core is broken. So they simply spin their wheels and promise new enhancements to gameplay but it's more of the same.

The issue is that the core aspect of fundamental football isn't entertaining or splashy. The foundation of the gameplay foundation is broken. It's the offensive and defensive line. Without these players doing their actual jobs properly (assignments, skill, etc) the rest of the engine is broken.

Instead, we'll get enhancements to QBs. Or new running animations. Or new tackling "engine". Which is all fine and dandy, but the fundamental of the entire game is broken which means the rest will follow suit.

So, sure, they'll tell us what they "fixed" but they still won't address the real issue - the core engine.
You ever heard of Back Breaker? That sounds more like your game. No license ,bad graphic ,but outstanding engine.

I thought there was supposed to be a second gameplay photo today?
