NCAA Football 12 News Post

Tradition Football recently received an email from Ben Haumiller.

He's looking to identify where the home team band sits, in preparation for NCAA Football 12, from the looks of it. Let's give an assist to what Tradition Football has already started, by following Ben's directions.

The Gaming Tailgate also has a very well organized thread on the same topic.

Quote:
"What we need is to identify where the band sits at each stadium. We only need to know where the home band sits since we already know where the away section is for each stadium.

The preference would be either photo reference/circling the section on a seating chart image over just a written description of the locations."

The Cavalier Marching Band (Virginia Cavaliers) resides in the lower half / lower two-thirds of Section 105 of Scott Stadium. Reference pics follow (notice in the first, the band occupies the section that is empty in the picture; they are on the field performing in the pic. The pic is a bit old, it's before the new scoreboard went into Scott Stadium, and the band had gotten a little bit bigger since then as well.):

Autzen Stadium:
Student sections: 4-8
The band's section: 2
Opposing team sections: 38-39

I'm extremely glad they're going for this amount of depth in the stadiums.

The Washington Huskies band sits in the middle of the student section(lower part of sections 19-33 odd) in section 25 in the bottom 2/3 of that sections.

They sit in the purple part of the circled section.

Being a member of the UCF marching band, it makes me really happy that they're looking for this. And the UCF band sits under the smaller of the two scoreboards on the south side stands in section 201.

I don't think this is something that should have people jumping up & slating EA for making this a priority over gameplay issues. This is just a reasonable case of a developer reaching out to the community for some factual information to help towards the development of their title.
Ultimately the location of the band is a minor detail but it does underline an intention for accuracy within the game & highlights the attention to detail the game is being given.
When we get into issues regarding gameplay the debate becomes alot more subjective & you can only hope that developers take notice of the various points made by the gaming communities when implementing new ideas into the game.

The NCAA Football team is reaching out to the community and wants your help in gathering team reference details for possible inclusion in the years to come. After asking for info on Cheerleader Chants several months ago, they now want your help in learning where each college football marching band sits in their home stadium, as well as bowl, conference championship and neutral site locations.
Am I the only one that noticed this part????? Neutral site locations? Please say this is true, this would be HUGE!!!!!! Give us access to stadiums from Madden for some neutral sites, and this will REALLY add a lot of excitement for us dynasty freaks, especially the ones that post in the Dynasty HQ forums and play 10-15 seasons with a given team.

BTW, if you guys go to the link in the original thread, they have a full list of every school with every school that has been mentioned checked off. Just a FYI to save you guys time. My hokies are taken care of, so I will just sit back and wait for the news to start dropping. I have a feeling this will be a big year for college football, NCAA 11 was (and still is) one of my most favorite football games ever, and I am still playing it 6 months since the game came out. I think they need to fine tune the cheerleaders, mascots, and the band all together, and have them grouped together in the same location. Have the mascot dancing with the cheerleaders to the team's different fight songs. That would really add to the whole college atmosphere!

The Texas Tech band is the white area on the opposite side. It's the majority of either section 20 or 21. And please make sure that they are wearing white, not red like in the past. They wear white jackets, black pants, black hats, and red and black capes. I know that is too detailed, but just in case.

I just hope we can get our stadium in this year! Anyhow...our band sits opposite the pressbox lower section that is almost empty in the photo below next to the hill. Looks like section 119. Again though, I think Akron fans are just hoping to finally get our stadium in the game.

It would be much easier if people just posted seating charts and highlighted the area.

Just saying.

# 40 DJ @ 01/22/11 01:47 PM
Sorry, I don't know how to highlight, but the white box in the South End Zone is where the Marching Chiefs sit.
