Well I'm certainly glad their attention is strictly focused on improving the game they have set in stone. No gimmicky modes, no heavy online attention, and hopefully nothing to hiccup the framerate or make this game melt in our console. This is the MLB 2K10 that should have been... let's hope.

The feature list doesn't blow me away, so hopefully that means that they spent most of their time working on the gameplay and other areas of the game.

"....paint the corners with pinpoint accuracy..."

I really hope they give us a pitching accuracy or difficulty slider. I can pinpoint pitches with Carlos Marmol (and I re-rated him to give him 30's control), that's something I wish not to be able to do.

I like the revamped fielding point, where they made a point to say that we now have control.

It's only a features list though, so it's not like it's going to sway me one way or another.

I desperately want a pitching accuracy slider too. Hopefully they will make it harder to hit your spots this year.

I like the revamped fielding and I really like the dynamic player ratings. I've been waiting for a game to finally let you update player ratings AFTER you start a dynasty/franchise. Many games constantly update player rosters but what good is it for the offline guy that's already started a franchise? This finally solves that problem.

Here we go with the pinpoint accuracy talk. I really hope they have added a pitch variable slider to make pitching a little more challenging.

I'm wondering if home run derby is still in.

Dynamic Player Ratings. 2k does it again. Kudos to them

That kinda did make me feel better about this game and the new Player Models and animations ..

Focusing on the fundementals is cool...but it looks like ronnie wrote that up this morning. Be cool to see a little more detail?

Shouldn't ratings progress and regress based on how the player is doing in the sim engine of the franchise?

Would be kinda odd that he progresses but is getting shelled in the sim engine, just because he pitches well IRL.

Unless someone can describe this in more detail.

dynamic player ratings only refer to exhibiton/MLB Today/ and online games. It doesn't effect franchise mode.

Sorry...but unless you can turn that on and off...that's odd.

If they do add the ability to add players into an existing franchise after you begin....that would be a pretty nice feature.

But I'm hoping they can progress and regress depending on their performance in franchise because I do not care to use the dynamic player ratings (I perfer to just play my own franchise in my own world).

Edit: But I figure it will not be something that is forced though, there's no possible way they could since not everyone has the ability to connect to the internet (or would even want to). So I'm not worried at all about it.

I agree. It is a positive and I'm also assuming it would have an option to be used or not.

I know a lot of you guys are big baseball guys but as active Show supporters and community day members, comments in the 2K forum that focus on the negative come across as trolling imo.

That's a big stretch bro.
I never come in here and say ANYTHING.
Someone is trolling right now and I GUARANTEE it ain't me.

Focus on the negative? People who have bought this game year after year hoping the game actually improves and lives up to what 2k has promised have EVERY right to focus on the negative. The franchise mode alone has been unplayable for years. The game that is released is basically a beta version and isn't anywhere near the final version until two, three, or more patches. I'm a 2k fan and really, really hope this game will be an improvement on last year's game. That being said, what information has been released that would give any hint that will be the case? Absolutely nothing. Again, I am looking forward to future info releases but to this point I am far from jumping up and down in anticipation for mlb 2k11.

I don't have a problem with negative discussion. I've spoken out about a lot of things wrong with 2K10. But there are some people here with an agenda and are trolling as far as I'm concerned. They don't want to hear any negatives about their game of choice but don't mind piling on the game they don't like.

I actually agree. I think its a different perspective on the playability of franchise mode. Lets face it, two things people often "complain" about in regards to franchise mode:

a) players aren't playing "realistically"
b) progression/regression isn't working properly

Well, now you have, at least seemingly, both of those issues resolved.

# 19 rudyjuly2 @ 01/19/11 11:24 PM
I love the idea of ratings moving with my franchise. The young stud that gets called up in the minors now has a much better rating. Same goes for that veteran that slips. Default roster ratings usually look pretty bad by the end of the year. I hope all sports games implement this sooner than later.

At least we have some more info on the game, and it's an good list. I too hope it means they spent time polishing the game and fixing bugs.

One thing I notice that's missing is Trading Cards. I'm fine with that too, maybe it frees up room for more ballparks and other features.

Now bring on the dev diaries and some vids....
