Madden NFL 11 News Post

According to Ian Cummings (via his Twitter account), Creative Director for Madden NFL 11, the 1.05 patch is available with a blog detailing it, coming "soon".

*UPDATE: According to members of OS, the patch is hit or miss ATM. As always, it's up to MS and Sony on when it will be released to everyone.

"FYI - Madden 11 title update #5 (1.05) is out and makes defense way better + fixes some major online exploits + more. Blog coming soon.

Apparently I have to stop using "soon" because everyone just asks "when is soon?" & I don't know when 360 update or podcast will go live.

For those wondering, tu5 defense changes consist of taking a ton of NCAA's tuning + coverage updates + defensive locomotion tuning + more."

I wish I knew what Ian's definition of 'way better' is. Hopefully it means 'makes offline franchise worth playing'. In all seriousness though, this could be cool.

Kudos to Ian and his team, I totally thought Madden 11 was a done deal. I really hope gameplanning is fixed. Glad to see they are still supporting this product as I think the end of the regular season is reasonable for cutting off patches and whatnot.

Ian's twitter: Btw, Some on Xbox and Some on PS3 have it. Not everyone. That'll help the anxious ppl.

For those wondering, tu5 defense changes consist of taking a ton of NCAA's tuning + coverage updates + defensive locomotion tuning + more.

Well that was a complete surprise. Thank you EA! Sounds like some good work went into improving defense.

Wow, this came out of left field.

Maybe I'll be playing this a bit longer than I have been.(haven't touched it in about 3 to 4 weeks)

Defensive locomotion tuning, better D, nice. I hope it's everything that's advertised, but something is better than nothing.

Can't wait for the blog.

I would also like to extend a kudos to the EA team. I might be off on this one, but I can't remember a time when we had this many patches. After the last podcast, it seemed kinda clear that they were moving on to 12. I think this is a sign of good faith to the consumers that they are truly invested in improving the product.

It's also cool that they humbled themselves and recognize what little brother did better than big brother, because this year's NCAA defense was really fun out of the box.

Holy ****. Major props to the Madden devs for still supporting this game and putting in more work.

I stopped playing about a month or 2 ago, but I might have to get a new copy depending on the impressions here.

Whenever it hits my end of town, I can't wait. Sounds promising. Tiburon stepping up, and its great with NFL playoffs nearby.

You may end up regretting that move....last time I did something like that (deleting the game data and the patch with it) it also deleted my online pass - fortunately I was able to re-download it from the PSN. Not sure how many times that's going to work though, and I'm not taking that chance again.

Yeah, I re-downloaded the pass and it works fine. I learned that as well...

Online Pass is an account activation though, right? I dont know why it would be erased in a cache clear. But I'm also not familiar with deleting updates on a PS3. So, excuse my ignorance if I'm wrong.
