The overall rating factors in skills that are relative to that position. If you look at skills relative to the PF position, then the comparison between the two is not close. If we are talking about their dominance or their importance to the league, then you would have a case. But you have to remember that the overall ratings do not work that way.

I understand how they work. But Tim has been declining for two years now. It hurts me to say that because that's my dude but it's true. I broke down already how Tim is better than dirk (btw it's spelled nowitzki), but I can see why some are upset by the rating disparity. That's all I'm saying.

KEVIN DURANT SHOULD BE A 95-96. CHRIS PAUL SHOULD BE 93. CHRIS BOSH SHOULD BE 89-90. JOAKIM NOAH SHOULD BE 75-77. DERRICK ROSE SHOULD BE 87-88. DWIGHT HOWARD SHOULD BE 90. TIM DUNCAN SHOULD BE 86-87 (ON DECLINE). DIRK SHOULD BE 86-87.

As far as Rondo and Rose, I'm alright with those ratings. Rondo gets more assists and steals per game by a wide margin. He gets about a half a rebound more per game. But he can't shoot to save his life. Meanwhile Rose is on another level as a scorer and already has one of the better mid range shots in the league. 2 point difference isn't that bad.

Ok, but they aren't playing at a Hall of Fame level anymore. And putting up 29, 18 and 13 in a game isn't carrying the team? Come on now. Rose and Rondo are completely different kinds of players. Rose is never gonna put up stats like that but no doubt he's a better scorer, but Rondo's got him pretty much everywhere else.

The ratings aren't to bad i'll wait until i have the game. Besides We all know that those ratings will change as the season progresses so no biggie.

I never really understood what is all these talk about players overall rating and their overall rating comparisons.

Overall rating means nothing anymore especially with the system that 2k has. Everyone has his pros and cons under different rating scales.

1 thing that has bugged me is how the heck Mbah a Moute starts as a PF when they have Ilyasova!

WOW i hate how the raptors are soooo under rated. Bargnani, calderon and barbosa i could deal with(and barbosa is definitely not starting over derozan)but amir johnson a 64. I say hes a 70 type of player. And klieza a 55.WOOOO now thats way too low.No respect for canada's only team.

Are you serious? I mean, his shots have improved since his rookie season, but one of the best..? Not even close.

These ratings threads always give me a good laugh. It�s hilarious seeing people freak out about an overall rating. I�m sure it�s been mentioned numerous times in this thread but the overall rating is the combination of each individual rating. The overall rating is not some subjective number that the developers make up. I have no problem with Tim Duncan being rated higher than Dwight Howard because Tim is an overall more polished player. Sure Dwight has him beat in athleticism, dunking, blocking, rebounding but Tim is better than Dwight in nearly every offensive category. I would have a problem though if Tim had a 99 dunk and Dwight had a 99 free throw. As long as the individual ratings are on point and players play like themselves, I have no gripes.
