NBA Elite 11 News Post

It looks like the NBA Elite 11 demo for PS3 users arrives tonight. Most likely, early in the morning tomorrow for 360 users.

Update: Demo dates and time:
Monday, Sept 20th 9pm PDT - PS3 in North America
Tuesday, Sept 21st 2am-6am - Xbox 360 Worldwide
Wednesday, Sept 22nd 9am-12pm - PS3 Europe

"One of the key changes we made this year was introducing all-new Hands-On Control. This puts the control of the player in your hands, and gets rid of the dice-roll shooting, canned animations, and loss of control you’ve experienced in past NBA Basketball video games. Like putting in time at the gym, there’s a learning curve with Hands-On Control. But once you feel the difference, you’ll know why we changed everything. To compare Hands-On Control to the old button configuration, you can switch back in your Lakers-Celtics game in the demo through Pause-> Menu -> Setting -> Control Setting. We really encourage you to put in the time in Practice Mode with the Hands-On Control and feel the difference versus our old controls."

For some people, the PS3 demo could almost be considered an early morning release as well.....LOL! Quote from the comments on the PS Blog:

It’s not going to happen until later (somewhere in the neighborhood of 9pm pacific).
Of course, that’s like 20 hours early.
Edit: Okay, it already got posted, but I added the link

So *this* is what it's like being a 360 owner, it's nice to get first dibs on a highly anticipated demo!

I'm going to try and get a good nights sleep tonight. Should be a fun day on the forums tomorrow

If I had only one word of advice in advance of the demo, it's to take your time in practice mode.

In our play tests many people found the jump from practice to 5v5 quite jarring, so don't rush it.

See you guys tomorrow...

Umm FYI both Sony and Microsoft has certification process for demos and patches, it just isn't a Microsoft only thing.

You're right buy MS' process is way more (a little too) intense. There have been multiple demos/XBLA games I've followed that were pushed back 2 weeks because of it. I haven't heard of that happening on PS3.

I couple be wrong though.

Good luck with trying to get the younger generation to try practice mode 1st, they barely crack open the instruction manual for games nowadays. That is why everytime a game comes out you see 25 questions posted on here of how to do this move or that move and the answer be right on page 1 of the instruction manual.

Just wanted to say that's an excellent rationale for including the practice mode with the demo, if that was the intent behind it. Letting us get our feet wet before diving into the new system.

I'm not really that interested in either game (not much of a pro hoops fan), but I will give this demo a shot just because I think that's such a smart move.
