I've noticed that the shorts do move a little... as for the jerseys it would be nice if they moved a bit, but if they ever implement that touch, they need to do it right. In some games where the jerseys move on the body they look like the players has a buffer over his skin between the jersey... it looks bad IMO. The NBA 2K series has this look.

After playing both Fifa and PES demos I'm going to have to go with PES this year, a first for me. The customization options available in PES look too cool to pass up, not into all the EA gimmicks such as Superstars, etc... I was quite underwelmed by the FIFA demo, it feels like the same old same old...

fifa 11 retail version isn't much different. There is more physical play and it seemed like the personality + is a bit more noticeable in the retail, so that's good. Replay theater is pretty weak. You get a highly compressed, small resolution replay. Custom Chants looks like it was a rushed feature. The overall gameplay is good though as i am a fifa fan. Gonna play a lot more when I get off work in a couple of hours.

The pes demo is much better though, IMO. It just feels like real, tactical football.

Full game is quite different than the demo. The crazy aggressive CPU defense is gone, and teams actually play the way they should. This year you can tell the difference between the Colchester Untied and Real Madrid - it's a joy.

The journey to find the perfect mesh as a user will definitely be tedious, however.

I tried all-manual, world class, right out of the box - hard to do, on top of that I use broadcast cam, so my angles are a bit messed up no matter what.

So I found that I'll stick to World Class, all manual except pass (semi) and cross (semi). This is a happy medium. Oh, and for those that don't know yet, ANalog sprint works both ways. Offensively it works like a charm, but when you use it as a defender - be ready to over pursue on multiple occasions until you perfect that pace.

I'm going to try a couple of games without analog sprint, and see how Legendary plays hoping I can defend a lot better.

I honestly love this game, and as you all know I'm a PES guy through and through. This just feels more like soccer to me.

This post just made me really, really happy for Tuesday. Crazy CPU defense being gone pretty much just made my night.

I can confirm that the absolute best combination of simulation football for this game is

1. Dynamic cam, zoomed out, height all the way down.

2. World Class.

3. All manual.

4. Holding R1+R2 (PES supercancel)

Dynamic cam makes the player models stand out to the max, incredible detail, and I've seen little animations that I have missed from Broadcast and Tele cams. You're more into the action, and the velocity of passes and shots are truly remarkable. FIFA finally got the physics of the ball right in 11.

Gameplay settings was tough to find. But World Class all manual is very nice, and in my opinion can only work with Dynamic cam because of angles issue as I had mentioned in my previous post. But the reason for WC is that the CPU does not play like a god, they make plenty of mistakes and while it's slightly easier to tackle them, it's realistic. Not like where LEgendary ALL players have incredible agility with the ball, not even giving the best defender to a chance.

I'll post a video here in a bit just for fun.

Just tried the demo. Man, I really do not know how to play this game. I will use Matt's camera settings but does anyone have a list of the special controls? It's getting like the NBA games with all of different controls.

No, I mean I get that. But what does the command actually do when playing?

To those who have said that penalty kicks are too easy...

What? I feel like it's broken in the demo. I hope it is anyway.

If I aim at all to the left or right, no matter how lightly I move the left stick, the ball is no where near the net. And the power-up doesn't feel like it is reflected by the strike of the ball. The only way I've been able to score is by leaving the left stick alone and barely tapping the shoot button. That gives me a medium strength shot right down the middle, and of the keeper dives then I've got a goal. If not, I look like a chump.

But here's why I think it's broken...it's not just me who can't make the kicks. It's the CPU as well. In about 10 games finishing tied against the CPU on World Class difficulty, I've won about 3-4 PK sessions 1-0. And lost the rest 2-1 or 1-0. It's not like I'm missing everything and the CPU is beating me 3-1 or 4-1. They miss everything too.

Anybody else think PK's are broken?

Im glad to hear the final version is better than the demo.. I was a little bummed by the demo.. Way too hard to score, the pace was too slow and hitting the ball felt like I was kicking a rolled up wet newspaper..

Hopefully the game plays faster and shooting power has more velocity. It almost seemed broken in the demo.. Especially in the Arena.. Time after time I would aim high and the shot would go low.. Did they change the shooting mechanics as well ?

How the hell do you do penalty kicks properly this year?

I noticed it's much different from just aiming one direction and pressing B as the shooter and choosing one direction and guessing on the L stick as the goalie.

I think the goalie is now controlled with the R stick, but how do you get your shots off properly? I pressed B when that little meter at the bottom was in the green middle area and didn't put full power on my shot but I still shanked it wide. Even lightly aiming on the L stick didn't help.

It seemed like the CPU missed a lot of penalties too.

I've played the demo 20 times and it just seems too easy to score, while the CPU is tenative offensively. Hopefully sliders or the retail version make games closer.
