The new NBA 2K11 Developer Insight is online. This one talks about My Player mode.
Quote:
"This is Erick Boenisch again, Producer for NBA 2K11 although many of you may know me by my forum name, SimBaller. I spoke a few weeks back about MJ: Creating a Legend. I’m here today to talk to you about the My Player mode and some of the exciting changes we have made to it this year. NBA 2K10 saw the birth of My Player, the first true career mode experience ever for the NBA 2K series. With one year of this mode under our belts, we’ve learned quite a bit; things like what works, what doesn’t work, and what you all want to see in the mode this year. Enough chatter, let’s dive into what NBA 2K11’s My Player is all about…"
CAN WE BRING OUR MY PLAYERS FROM 2K10 to 2K11?!!! ive been working hard on my PF even if it is halfway through the season! i put him on the bulls so that he becomes the greatest Bull Player ever (hehe.)
Also, SIMULATED QUARTER LENGTHS? does that mean we can simulate games during the Reg. Season?
RT @Str8Nasty@Ronnie2K Will we be able to carry over our 2K10 Player to 2K11?->Unfortunately not. Don't want glitch 99 guys playing a role
@Str8Nasty But the plan is to make it carry over in years as we go along. Just too much packed into My Career this year to carry over.
This game was already an absolute buy but this was the icing on the cake. The amount off things 2k was able to add this year is amazing. It's going to make it difficult for me to buy the "we didn't have time" excuse from other games in the future.
but there is no mention of the game being harder. The most important thing for me is for the game to be a challange, I dont want to be a 55 overall beasting it up in the NBA.
question, why should just only be for my player? to be honest, if they had it for association, that would be awesome. Of course, the players aren't going to record arrogant sayings lol. but the possibility, bringing the drama and ego's into a champsionship run with known players...beautiful
Only thing that I'm afraid about the Press Conference answering is the generalization of the answers into only 4 categories.
So pretty much the player answering what you don't expect him to answer, and therefore getting an unwanted reaction.

Please make the game harder, please.
Its a combination of what game style and difficulty you select. Pick simulation with one of the higher difficulties and you should be good to go.

You're allowed to change the gamestyle and difficulty.
I was thinking, will we be able to make different players, for example you start with a PG but after all you get bored of him and you want to play as a PF. Will we be able to have more than one my player players?

We did last year, why not again this year. @2K BTW can we get some news on crowd atmosphere please ?
Is there an incentive for playing in Sim and a high difficulty, one of the things that I love about MyPlayer is that you can use them in Crew Games but if the majority of users are playing on casual or default on pro or all-star to rank up faster, why make the game harder.
I'll probably still play on Sim and Superstar, but I'm curious on how the skill points will be awarded in 2k11.

Great point, however there are rating caps, so people may be able to get their ratings up quickly playing on easier levels however they will get capped, plus playing on a easier level just mean they will be less skilled in crew and pickup games.

Interesting point there, bro. I'm also curious about this one. Higher difficulty and gamestyle should produce higher skill points.
