NBA 2K11: Dominate in My Player Mode and See Your Signature Shoes on Other Players

The NBA 2K11 facebook page has given us another update to My Player mode.

	"If you're gonna Become The Greatest, you gotta have your own signature shoe. Dominate in this year's version of My Player mode and you'll see your customized kicks on the feet of other guys in the league. What's your signature shoe gonna be called?"

You make it sound like they wanted to end those titles. They were booted out of the NFL market by that deal, and the same thing was about to happen on the college hoops side. They refused to get burned again. If you are about to end a title, you don't invest a lot of resources into it.

As for waiting for NFL, talk to the NFL about that. It's not 2K's call...

Aesthetic appeal man, shoes have always been a hot commodity when dealing with the game of basketball, much like people get excited over tattoos etc etc it's just been that way for a long time.

Neither of 2k's other sports games were considered classics until years after they were discontinued. This is not quite the same thing.

This is a nice feature. I'm not super big on kicks but the idea of players sporting your shoe is dope. Definitely gives an incentive to keep playing.

Imagine some years down the road and you're on the court schooling the youngster who's sporting your kicks, because he looks up to you. Always wanted to play against you.

2k11 isn't the only quality sports game coming out the 2nd half of the year. NHL & FIFA(most popular sport in the world) may have a little say so in the matter. No disrespect intended.

There goes the red "pink" that 2k can't get right. I wipe they can fix this because seeing the guys with pink shoes gets really old.

Hey man, honestly to answer the question about "sneakers"

There is a man on the cover who had a slogan in commercials that said

"its gotta be the shoes" spoken by a famous movie director, who just so happened to influence the culture around the game with sneakers

Contracts have been paid, countless commercials, sponsorships, recognitions, summer camps, charities, etc etc... all because of sneakers.

So while it may not matter to some, it has definitely had its mark in the game.

Now with a video game, this isnt COD or Assasins Creed, its basketball. Shoes have their place in the NBA to the fans in a big way.

If I see another player wearing my shoes, I hope those shoes match the colors of their specific team. In the past 2k always had trouble with signature shoe colors on traded players. For example, Boozer playing for the Bulls with powder blue shoes.
