The NBA 2K11 facebook page has given us another update to My Player mode.

This is an interesting development but I'm still more interested in what's to be said in the "developer's insight". God, although the release date for this game nears each day, it still doesn't change the feeling that it's taking an eternity to come out.
I love the NBA 2K series but why the hell is there such an obsession with footwear in basketball games?
Their are usually two things that effect your game the most: your confidence and having proper equipment. When you look good, you play good, and when you wear poor basketball shoes hurt your feet lol. Basically it matters to an actual basketball player, so it matters in an actual basketball game.
Ok this is what im guessing and since I didn't read the other pages I hope someone didn't already say this......Ron said we can wear other shoe brands and that we have to earn the sig shoe, so Im guessing since in the picture it shows the Jordan brand grayed out that once you sign a shoe deal thats the only shoe you can wear......I hope.
I want a shoe that retails at 150.00 crafted by sweat shop labor in Guatemala, with a Fortune 500 CEO. It shall be called Air Out. It will come with an authentic representation of my own foot odor.
from the looks of that picture (and I could be wrong), but I think you gain a shoe contract from a company (adidas, nike, reebok) and then make your signature shoe that way. You see how the brand name Jordan is grayed out, that probably means you either under that brand until you either get more status or your contract is up with them. I know that sounds way too sophisticated but one can only hope right.
I believe the reason the shoe is locked to Jordan's brand is most likely because the game asks you to sign a shoe deal. And then from there, you can pick from, NIKE, ADIDAS, JORDAN, REEBOK, CONVERSE, AIR GENERICS (Lol) etc. etc. I bet that's why the Jordan is darkened out....
shoe contracts for my player is a great addition but a regular create-a-shoe for existing players seems a little more necessary with the addition of the historic teams and those eye sore generics. unless of course they actually have a nice selection of vintage kicks, which i doubt happens.
