NBA 2K11: My Player Mode, Take the Podium For Your Own Press Conferences

The 2K Sports Facebook page has released the first details of NBA 2K11's My Player Mode.

	"In this year's My Player mode, the game doesn�t end after the final buzzer. In NBA 2K11 you gotta take the podium for your own post-game press conferences. But watch what you say, your answers can earn you admiration or get you run out of town. Will you claim all the glory or will you praise your coaches?"

NBA Inside Drive had it to where you would get a tech post play on a foul or dead ball, you could hit the steal button and hit a ref or whatever...

Never seen it before nor since.

Im sure alot of things the NBA wont allow anyway, so lets not hold trivial things like fighting in nba games against the companies.. it makes no sense

If you want to fight buy boxing or tekken or some other sandbox game out there that allows you to punch

sounds fun, wish there was a way to keep going with same "my player" from 2k10 i only gottten 1/2 way in my 5th season. Maybe we could keep him from the begining of the 10-11 season and use that in 2k11.

Didn't a featured blog or column here on OS demand a "BioWare-esque" single player experience from sports games? Because what this new feature includes looks to be very similar to BioWare's patented morality system ("paragon/renegade" in Mass Effect, for example). It definitely adds some much-needed RPG elements to the mode.

This is a good way to cash in on the media circus surrounding the NBA, especially this past year's free agency period. Great addition IMO and one that could lead to very impressive things in modes such as My Player from here on out.

Anyway, this is great news as always. This game will be absolutely amazing, i just can't wait. Still looking for more detail in this year my player mode, like demanding a trade, more training drills and other sorts of things. Once again, nice job 2k.

Hope not, but for what we have seen in other games, it will be so fun and new for the first 10 times, so boring and repetitive after that once you have experienced the 20 different questions/answers and you know what to say to get what you want.

I'm glad they are upgrading my player mode, but any change to this mode is useless if they didn't first address the one glaring need it had: custom sliders.

Simballer, can you let us know if you can now change custom sliders from inside your My Player career now once it has already started? I loved this mode, but it got old quick as I could not get a realistic game for the style I like to play. sure a lot of people like to cheese their way to a 62 pt 11 assist game, but I would like to use sliders to take away any options that are too easy for "my player" and also to get the AI to play as realistic as possible. if custom sliders are in, woah man is this gonna suck a lot of my free time away! for me this is the first question i have about this mode, before any enhancements or new features...

what can you do. at the end of the day its a video game and if your expecting more than that, your expectations are waaaaaaaaay too high.

I have to agree with this. Sliders! MyPlayer is another mode that eats a lot of my playing time besides the Association.

Man I been wanting something like this for a while since NBA Live 04. I remember Live 04 had them cool cutscene of players signing with a team, post game press conference etc.

Sliders do sound good but I don't think they can do it. 2k might worry some people would adjust the sliders to make it easier to max out their player so that they can dominate online. They're probably going to lock in the sliders, gamestyle and quarter length.

The only way I can see them get around this is do what EA is doing. Make one player for offline only and the other for online. This might be one of the announcements this week. Who knows.

yeah I actually put that in the wishlist last year, clearly they should have a separate online and offline My PLayer just like EA NHL series. it then encourages people to play together online more often to progress, instead of cheesing their way through a very limited (custom wise) offline mode to progress. all they did was really just handicap their own feature mode last year, was pretty frustrating to those of us that really enjoyed it.

don't punish all of your offline customers just to cater to the 1% of customers who would cheat offline to play online.

Agreed with everything you said except the 1 percent. I wish it were only 1 percent
