You can play well both ways this year. I would learn a few plays as that way you can know where your teammates are going to be while your creating your offense.

in 2k in the past there was really no need to run the plays. they executed so poorly and rarely actually gave you an advantage. I can see a lot of people actually checking out plays and getting a bit more into strategy this year. But I have seen people excel with both styles.

As long as your playing good basketball you will have a shot at success. As the CPU starts to lock in on you though your going to want to have a couple options you feel comfortable with.

Dang nice block by Anthony & Haywood...man this game is shaping up pretty good, loving the defense.

Only now I noticed it, it's after the pass was stolen right? Well, with that horrible pass (after being WIDE open), he deserved some anger from the crowd...

the new scoreboard really bothers me, I hope you can remove it

In the third video (1:00-1:02), I didn't like that Butler automatically went for the ball, which resulted in a turnover, after the CPU touched it.

Really good videos, like the defense improvement.

Exactly, the plays are so bad...in comparing to live, live acutally gives the user an advantage and the players run the plays really quick unlike 2k last year, it takes forever to execute a play and the play ussually don't even give you an open jump shot, SUCKS!

I can not wait for the battlegrounds this year. With all the changes Elite has done and the polish 2k has added, it should be really interesting. Those breakdowns are the best. Big up.

I disagree. I experienced much success calling plays in 2K10. Not saying the system was perfect however.

Really hated the plays in 2k10..if it didn't involve a paint shot, the unrealistic closeouts messed up the play.

# 53 infam0us @ 08/21/10 11:40 PM
The closeouts didn't bother me with the plays in 2k, it was the fact that you had to be at that exact spot for play to go on and show you the rest. You could have one foot on the circle and it would take a few seconds for the play to go on and it was just so damn annoying.

Its why I ran around 3 plays all which I had memorized.

It's the 2k camera for christ sake.

I could always tell when someone was playing on the side view online because they normally all ways went to the baseline from one side or only shot the ball from one side.

It takes about two minutes running up the court to figure it out. Then I would just bring a big man from the weak side and shut the baseline down.

lnin0 : When you play on the side view you try and attempt those garbage passes. If they were playing on the 2k camera they would have known those passes were not open.
LOL. Never thought of it that way...but since you mention it, I hate the side view as well. I always play straight up and down.

...i really like how the players move now..the gameplay and graphics are looking nice..2k got the game mode covered with jordan mode

i agree that the people are playing like crap...its like playing basketball with a 2 year old trying to dunk on you.

i use side view still..but if i check the places i took shots..they're very close to each other...passings different...as i hate turnovers...those are horrible passes even for a sideview game

i like side view still..its like watching a game..it will never be like playing a game cause then the game has to cover a 180 degree radius for realism..not happening

Ah that too..plus the player movement made it kinda hard to even get in the circle.

OMG...The key point of my favorite play takes place at the corner 3, a pick n roll. I don't know how many times I've stepped out of bound trying to get the play to continue.

I really hate when people say stuff like this. Been playin 2k for a long time now. Sure you can get some shots but closeout speeds, contests, and plays period were a problem last year, and it looks like its been addressed big time. And by shots I mean mostly jumpshots, not layups and post ups.

If this is an early build then it looks awesome, just some minor tweaks needed for skating, and the graphics on that lebron free throw should have this game ready to go come october

you know, something that i've wanted in the game for a while, i just noticed it in a 2k7 video. it's small but, the guys with longer hair (mainly the white guys), their hair should move whenever they are running. not really dramatically buy a little and you should notice every player's hair having more sweat in it throughout the game. you can see it on their arms and legs and such, but never the hair. small thing, just thought i'd point it out.
