in 2k in the past there was really no need to run the plays. they executed so poorly and rarely actually gave you an advantage. I can see a lot of people actually checking out plays and getting a bit more into strategy this year. But I have seen people excel with both styles.

As long as your playing good basketball you will have a shot at success. As the CPU starts to lock in on you though your going to want to have a couple options you feel comfortable with.
Exactly, the plays are so bad...in comparing to live, live acutally gives the user an advantage and the players run the plays really quick unlike 2k last year, it takes forever to execute a play and the play ussually don't even give you an open jump shot, SUCKS!

Maybe you need some practice, I play with dudes that run with plays on auto and execute them very well. You actually get better shots running play than some random offense.

I can not wait for the battlegrounds this year. With all the changes Elite has done and the polish 2k has added, it should be really interesting. Those breakdowns are the best. Big up.

I disagree. I experienced much success calling plays in 2K10. Not saying the system was perfect however.

Really hated the plays in 2k10..if it didn't involve a paint shot, the unrealistic closeouts messed up the play.

Is it me or is the people that have the chance to play NBA 2K11 really suck at playing it thus making the game look bad...

The closeouts didn't bother me with the plays in 2k, it was the fact that you had to be at that exact spot for play to go on and show you the rest. You could have one foot on the circle and it would take a few seconds for the play to go on and it was just so damn annoying.

Its why I ran around 3 plays all which I had memorized.

It's the 2k camera for christ sake.

I could always tell when someone was playing on the side view online because they normally all ways went to the baseline from one side or only shot the ball from one side.

It takes about two minutes running up the court to figure it out. Then I would just bring a big man from the weak side and shut the baseline down.

lnin0 : When you play on the side view you try and attempt those garbage passes. If they were playing on the 2k camera they would have known those passes were not open.
LOL. Never thought of it that way...but since you mention it, I hate the side view as well. I always play straight up and down.
