EA Delivers Ultimate Gameday Experience With Madden NFL 11 Soundtrack

Classics by AC/DC, Ozzy Osbourne, Guns N’ Roses and More Highlight New Edition of ‘Most Influential Soundtrack in Videogame History’

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) today unveiled the music track listing for Madden NFL 11. This year’s soundtrack features 23 tracks that recreate the ultimate live gameday experience via a collection of crowd favorites, stadium classics, and official NFL team fight songs.

After 10+ years of being a foremost showcase for introducing new artists – including Franz Ferdinand, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Yellowcard, Wolfmother, Jet, The Bravery, B.o.B., Good Charlotte, OK GO, Fallout Boy and 30 Seconds To Mars – the Madden NFL 11 soundtrack focuses on stadium authenticity with classic fan-favorites by AC/DC, Queen, KISS, Ozzy Osbourne (including his new hit “Let Me Hear You Scream”), Guns N’ Roses, The Hives, Gary Glitter, Blur, Ying Yang Twins and Todd Rundgren. Adding to the unprecedented authenticity are official team fight songs of the Green Bay Packers, Washington Redskins, Minnesota Vikings, Miami Dolphins and more.

“The term ‘Madden Music’ has come to mean music that matches the intensity of the video game,” says said Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music and Marketing for EA. “This year, we wanted the music to not only define the game, but also the stadium experience. These are the classics that consistently bring NFL crowds to their feet. It’s an exciting new audio direction for Madden NFL, one that we know all fans will respond to. There is nothing like the experience of live football in a packed stadium, and the Madden NFL 11 soundtrack absolutely brings that excitement home.”

THe Here We Go Steelers chant will probably be in the game. These are just team "fight songs" not crowd chants. For example we know JETS Jets-Jets-Jets is in, and that is not listed on the list.

Add 2004 as well. I think that was the best soundtrack Madden has had in general.

In fact, everything up to 06 I thought we solid. Everything since hasn't been up to my standards. 10 was alright though.

While I like they're adding more authentic stadium sound tracks, soundtrack seems to be limited in fresh new tracks from known, and unknown artists. Just like one post said in this thread, I like hearing a song on the radio or in TV later on in the year that I heard in Madden first.

@ couple of previous posters....

ian confirmed (twitter) no Bills Shout song....couldn't get rights to original/parody....bummer#1

no custom tracks either...so adding that track (which i have had since my 2k5 days) can't be loaded...bummer #2

M10, the crowd already does chant "DEFENSE....DEFENSE...DEFENSE..."...so i imagine M11 has it again

This sucks! Ooh! I'm so upset that they are not launching new artists and new music on Madden. This is a huge downer because it's taking away from elements that make Madden' s release the special release it is. Don't get me wrong, I love the fight songs, but the first time I heard Good Charlotte or Outkast's church on Madden are top 20 gaming moments. Huge mistake EA! Huge mistake! A ton of madden gamers are of African descent. You're clearly not thinking in regards to keeping your product as diverse as possible. I am officially ticked off.

Wonder if this will work....

I'm sorry, I just had to repost my disappointment. This is one of the main reasons I hate the fact gaming has gone mainstream. You have suits making decisions to make games appeal to a large number of potentially new gamers. This equates to a game having zero soul. Buying Madden used to be like buying a separate music CD. Unfortunately this has changed. So sad.

it's alright but there's been better ones in the past. Still better than last years. Like what's the point of Tupac if every word is censored?

Can't wait to hear the Skins fight song.

Finally, some real music. I was getting so tired of Madden being defined by ghetto rap "music" and upstart punk/boy bands.

I always thought Let It Rock was a Robbie Williams song for some reason, they played the hell out of that at the LV Locos games last season.

I will NOT be satisfied until the ENTIRE Purple Rain soundtrack is in the game AND the SB during franchise mode features Prince's **** halftime show! lol jk jk

# 36 Dog @ 07/26/10 07:01 PM

me and my friends used to actually listen to that song before playing madden.. literally

# 37 ODogg @ 07/26/10 07:02 PM
If that ever happens the series should just hang up it's cleats. Forever.

Nice to see Gary Glitter took time out from his child porn and raping kids to sign the rights over to EA for Rock n Roll Part 2.
