Houston hasn't run the R&S since the early 90's. The current offense was installed prior to the 08 season by ex-TT assistant (now Okie St OC) Dana Holgerson, and is a variation on Mike Leach's version of the Air Raid.
I was going off a previous poster who claimed Houston runs the run&shoot.
And for the record, the difference between R&S and Air Raid is a very fine line. It's an apples and oranges situation.
You can call yourself an Air Raid offense, but if you can't throw the ball down field and teams pressure you a lot, you become a Run and Shoot. Also, R&S offenses use motion more often, but that doesn't mean Air Raid can't use motion as well.
The point I made about Northwestern being a R&S isn't something that would fly conceptually on paper, but the fact of the matter is that NWstern throws short quick passes.
Also, West Coast offenses throw lots of short passes, so there isn't one style of offense that does everything while others don't.
I think one thing everyone needs to remember this year as that there aren't actually 120 different offenses. And each style has a lot in common with other styles. When you start throwing labels out you run a slippery slope.

Run & Shoot used motion back in the day... but not anymore. June Jones has talked about this, you can find videos of it on YouTube. Basically instead of motioning they {SMU/Hawaii} will just line up in Trips...
They used to run motion to determine the defense... Man or Zone. Not anymore though. Here he is talking about it...
I watch Mizzou games, and they only use the pistol once every while. Mizzou runs a lot of 5 wide sets... and uses alot of motion into and out of the backfield.
I guess Penn St vs Alabama will be a one also. Looks like they are doing some matchups that are happening this year.
Clemson and Missouri don't play each other this year. the common thing between the 6 teams are that they're all Nike schools that had a pro combat uniform last year.

So the teams left from the pro-combat schools are Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, LSU, TCU and Texas. Anyone whose saying teams that arent in this list are gonna be dissapointed. If I had to make a geuss i would say Oklahoma vs Texas.
