MLB 10 News Post

Notes:

-All players (my players) are completed.....updated with faces....updated ratings...numbers. I randomized stances and in the instances I knew an actual stance...I added it.
-I did not get a chance to put Struts NEW stances he sent me yet. (the set contains his original updated stances)
-I did the most common lineups for the MLB teams from Baseball Reference. In some cases I just used "common sense" (what little I have left)
-I let the CPU dictate the minor league lineups/rotations
-I did not use the "extra" A rated player. It is Grant Desme of the Oakland A's and heard the higher calling and left the game. It is him on the FA list....so you're choice....give him his name...and put him back on Oakland....or make him the player of your choice
-I tried to get in as many requests as possible
-The Futures game starters look great for the most part...but for whatever reason...there are still some USA players being put on the World team. I cannot figure it out.
-I tried and succeeded for the most part in getting the AAA teams perfect
-Some of the early AL teams might have changed since I did them....heck...even some of the NL teams might be like that...there is a lot of minor league movement.

Of course....this would have been impossible this year without Ridin'...and KSig who really set the table and came through big time with this set this year.

Also thanks to Strut.....Mr Franchise....Razr....JaSnake...and the countless others who supplied us with info, which is invaluable to a project like this. As it is....it can be overwhelming at times.....having resources to pluck from is a GREAT help.

AL being complete... this includes all SCEA players as well I'm sure?

The pitch edits are mostly SCEA players.

First, thank you Knight for all your hard work with this roster (V2) as well as V1. I have not yet had a chance to check it out as I have been away attending a family funeral.

I noted in the discussion that there are duplicates of Jonathan van Every and Saul Rivera. (Given that the roster file contains 2700 players it is amazing that there are only two - that is a monument to how thorough Knight's work is). Will these be addressed in the RAZR pitch edits/stamina version which is currently being worked on?

Soon I will be back home and am very much looking forward to enjoying these rosters.

Thanks again to all.

Karle

We're just handling pitch and stamina edits. Nothing other than that.

This is awesome! As it stands it would appear if pitch edits will be a day or two more and then Bahnzo I believe said his will take him 2 or 3 days! Thanks for all the Hardwork and dedication guys!

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but there are duplicates of pitcher Saul Rivera. One with the Indians and one with the D'Backs.
I note that Saul Rivera belongs on the Cleveland Indians AAA squad. Does anyone have suggestions for a player to be used to replace the Saul Rivera on the Diamondbacks?

Thanks.

Saul Rivera IS on the Diamondbacks

the Indians traded him to the D-Backs a few weeks ago for "cash"

This is correct, he just pitched a couple days ago against SF

Thank you for the information re Saul Rivera. That is probably why he appeared on both teams. However, since these are supposed to be opening day rosters perhaps for these purposes he should still be placed on Cleveland.

I was only looking for a replacement for the second Saul Rivera. Any suggestions?

Karle.

Amazing! Amazing! Thanks Knight for a tremendous job. I went thru the whole business and came up with 3 duplicates only... out of 2700 players! Fantastic! Here's the deal :
I switched Jonathan Van Every (SCEA) from PIT to BOS (AAA). I then replaced the duplicated Van Every (non-SCEA) with Quincy Latimore, a promising rookie and assigned him to PIT (AA).
Casey Fien (SCEA) is now back with DET (AAA). I replaced the duplicated Fien (non-SCEA) by creating Ryne Lawson in his place and assigned him to BOS Single-A).
I switched Saul Rivera (SCEA) from CLE to ARI (AAA) and I replaced the duplicated Rivera by creating Justin Germano and assigned him to CLE (AAA).
In other words, all you need to do his switch the duplicated names around. Put the SCEA players on their current teams and non-SCEA duplicated players on the other teams and edit them. Voilà!

Knight, you might want to check out Heyward's face...it looks like SCEA's and not the face you did on V1.

# 172 xVVIllx @ 05/30/10 04:53 PM
you can use my heyward with your rosters if you want

Really I didn't know that.

I just wanted to let everyone know b/c he is a high profile prospect at the wrong position. I'm not one of these guys trying to argue potentials just letting the powers that be know that for v3 they might want to fix this, boss.

Thank you for your proposed solution. I for one will make the changes you recommend.

The only thing being changed for V3 is pitch edits. No position changes or roster moves. Thanks for the heads up though.

OMG been working on the file and finished the Orioles (completely), and then a lightning storm just hit and erased what I had done. Looks like I'm starting over.

I hadn't started on the NL yet because I figured I'd go ahead and do movements and control since it's best if just one person does those in order to keep things "standard". Then anyone else can input the rest of the ratings if need be since theyre all laid out on the spreadsheet. Back to work for me.

Man that sucks big time! It's tedious getting all the edits in. I learned that after about 7 hours of working on it yesterday. I agree that is the way to go on the control and break ratings. Here's hoping to no more power outages for you.

It wouldn't really be a position change, Ackley never played 1B for the M's. They moved him the 2B in the AFL after like a week at CF. Only reason he played 1B at UNC is b/c he was coming off an elbow surgery. So it'd be more like a roster correction.

I hear you, I'm just saying it won't be changed in v3.

So, were the faces on version 1 lost for version 2? I thought some of the faces looked different.
