I think the patch certainly helped on balls up the middle being gobbled by the pitcher. The pitcher can still be Mr. Super Fielder at times but I've also seen the animation of him hitting the deck to avoid the ball a few times. More balls get through the middle now than pre-patch imo.

One thing I haven't been impressed with is the default fielder the game chooses for you after the hit. On balls in the infield they often give me an outfielder. I tried to dive the other day with my 2B and Magglio dove in the OF. Reminded me of the Show when I did that since they used to have a similar problem.

Even secondary fans care about a realistic representation of MLB. You can't assume only hardcare fans want realism. I think the Show does a great job of that myself but it needs to improve in options like analog controls and camera angles. Realistic and fun don't always go hand in hand. Gameplay mechanics play a role.

Honestly, if I had the time, I would play both games. I enjoy what 2K10 brought to the table this year. But, it isn't the total package that The Show is. When forced to choose between the two, I'm going with The Show.

Again, not a knock on 2K at all as I think they really stepped its game up this year and produced a quality title. I may go back and pick the game back up again at a later date because it is fun to play.

Lol, I just d/l the demo for 360 last night...in the real version , how much of those pitching & hitting graphics can you turn off? I wanna try this game basically for the commentary and mlb today...usually I do franchise but I hear that it's lame...

I just really want the ball cursor to go away...and does anyone use classic pitching?

I think the game is a good game that can be great depending on the way you play it.

Does it lock up or just stay on the batter cut scene? Have you tried the sub menu or save and quit option? I haven't seen that on the PS3 but I'm in the AL and only played one inter-league series.

I've seen this. Between innings when I went to get someone, he had sat down

I just never felt a rush from successfully warming up a pitcher. I can understand why it is a compelling feature, but it has caused me more grief than it is worth.
the warm up pitcher would be a good feature, if they would make it more dynamic. they should have some sort of indicator of how how well your relief pitchers throwing in the bull pen. is he throwing hard is he locating well. will he be effective or not. right now its just warm up a reliever and bring him in. add in the fatigue factor, then it becomes even more immerssive.
this would make warming up 2 relievers more of a necessity.

Sometimes I'll forget I got a guy warming up LOL!! If my starter struggles I always try to let him roll as long as possible. Then I remember 2 innings later about that guy in the pen... oops.

But I like the idea mentioned here about some meter that shows a pitcher's readiness. This game is so close, yet so FAR away.

When you have pitcher's warming up and you go to the quick sub menu, hit triangle (on PS3) and it takes you to a bullpen camera and shows you a meter that indicates how warm the pitcher is.

Didn't know this ^^

Thanks!! Question: does anyone know if the bullpen camera is also in the 360 version? (I don't have the PS3).

how the hell do I check swing? and i have the patch

# 114 ryan36 @ 06/12/10 05:08 PM
has anybody else noticed certain deliveries (duchscherer) have a hitch in them that make steals automatic?

it's like all this game needs is to be tuned a just a little better and it'd be a lot more fun.
I'm still having a blast

You have to pull the swing stick back after pushing it forward, which is nearly impossible. I don't bother with it.

I found that out by accident after hitting the triangle button by mistake one day. 2K needs to do a better job of indicating this stuff to us. (Triangle is the top button on a PS3 controller - not sure what the corresponding 2K button is).

mkharsh - you were right about the player names on jerseys. Any player I edited before the patch has the name on the back of the jersey properly. But I created Danny Worth for the Tigers and "Snow" remains on his back during gameplay. Annoying.

Just more joy in 2k10...

If I can't find a fake name player (and it's amazing what you can discover on google) I am now trying to match up last names to the initial of that player. Nothing more fun than seeing a pitcher with the wrong last name out there and the last name not even in the same ballpark...

The only time I get check swings without doing the pull back is if I swing way late. I've had too many instances of slightly pushing forward and changing my mind but it's too late. Are you 360 or PS3 ?

Yep... When on the mound press the d-pad down to bring up your pitching staff. Then press the Y button and there's your bullpen. Nice hidden secret!
