NCAA Football 11 News Post

Russ Kiniry, Designer of NCAA Football 11 has posted a new blog discussing prospects. This is part 2 of a 3 part dynasty blog.

Quote:
"For the rest of this blog we are going to go over some of the new things we've done with the Prospects in Dynasty Mode. As you all know, the further you get in future years of Dynasty Mode the more the new Prospects coming into your game matter, so we had to ensure we did a better job this year in creating and ranking these Prospects.

As you many of you have already guessed, there is a new ratings spread in NCAA Football 11. You'll no longer see dozens of players at 99 OVR in this year's game when looking at the rosters we ship with. Hence, we had to ensure the new Prospects created in Dynasty Mode matched the new philosophy. The Prospects have been re-created... every single one of them. The reason being is we wanted to ensure that all positions in the game had its share of elite players, multiple types of players, and an even spread from top to bottom.

What classifies as an elite Prospect has changed from previous years with the new ratings spread. As you can imagine, you'll no longer see true freshman come into the game rated in the 90's OVR or even high 80's OVR. Only the top Prospects at any position this year will come in over an 80 OVR and depending on your school, he may or may not be able to start instantly."

Love the info and the game keeps looking better and better. Also since TCU's pro combats are in I think Virginia Tech's made it.

I was hoping height would matter in the ranking of recruits, so i could get smaller players easier for WVU .

I'd guess early-mid next week. I say that because with BackBreaker right around the corner, I expect them to release a Team Builder Blog late next week or early the week after to steal BB's thunder somewhat.

That last paragraph where he says "we will take a look at logic behind signing a recruit and how the cpu will do it" makes me hope they fixed the cpu recruiting logic!

Man this game is looking way better than madden right now.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one who's bothered by this and I haven't seen it brought up yet, but why can't you choose a random play (for all packages) during practice in Dynasty?
Also, in Madden, there wasn't even a practice option for season.
I love doing this at the beginning of a season to see what I'm working with. It seems like pure lazyness to me that it's not included.

IMO, the dev team really took out the thunder this would have by already deflating it with a whole 1st dynasty blog dedicated to a facelift to an aspect of recruiting and then doing another recruiting blog that had some actual substance.

And they already hinted at what the 3rd and final dynasty blog will be about at the end of this blog.

Really, they should have just labled the blogs with what they truly are:
Recruiting Blog 1 of 3
Recruiting Blog 2 of 3
Recruiting Blog 3 of 3

Then they would have actually been able to garner alot more hype. The blogs all seem dedicated to one thing, and thats recruiting. Recruiting is a major aspect of Dynasty Mode but certainly not the whole mode.
While I agree that the first blog was pretty weak compared to this one, I'm not going to complain about them breaking the info into three parts, especially since two of them came out within 3 days.

This blog was about recruiting but the revamped ratings will effect much more than just the recruiting cycle, and the third blog could be a coaching carousel which would obviously effect much more than recruiting. I understand your frustration, but let's see where this goes before we get too upset about how they've done it.

This game is shaping up and if coaching changings is the last blog this will be the best game to date.

the uniforms TCU was wearing the the "120 ways to win" promo video were not their pro-combat. pretty sure this is the first picture/vid that has TCU pro-combat, and maybe the first pro-combat shown to be in NCAA 11(didn't double check though).

I haven't played dynasty since 09 (kept 10 for about a week), but wasn't "coaching prestige" and "coaching experience" or whatever two of the categories to pitch to recruits? This screen doesn't mention them so hopefully this means the coaching carousel is in, please God.

it seems they order them by highest to lowest this year. it's possible the coach prestige and/or experience in down further to where you have to scroll down.

They could do mix-n-match, but I don't think EA would do that for a cheap 3 second clip.

# 79 Palo20 @ 05/21/10 12:09 AM
This all sounds good. I hope they make it so guys can play multiple positions. That's really important in the college game.

Also, I hope this year's rosters are rated properly. Will there only be a few 80 OVR Frosh?

the jersey could be the pro-combat, hard to tell from that vid though. but either way, we know it's in the game for sure now.
