Madden NFL 11 News Post

A little news is good news, right? It seems the Madden team will be scanning almost every NFL coach over the weekend and we should see them in Madden NFL 11.

Quote from the Madden NFL Art Director, Michael Young.

True, but then don't release information. Hey, I guess I am in the minority, but this is, to me, just a shameless attempt to get the Madden name in the news. At least wait until you have an interesting feature (or even a fix of an existing issue) before issuing a press release. Sorry, but this does not qualify for me as news (big or tiny). I can be pleased - the majority of my posts on OS are positive (especially for NHL 10, which I absolutely love).

need some gameplay info

that should be cool! now lets work on gameplay, sim stats, AI Blocking, and everything else that caused madden 10 to mess up some before the patches!.

My bad. I didn't see that. I thought it was an EA press release touting this. If it was just an offhand post by the art director, then I apologize. I misunderstood.

The first post in the thread has a link to the twitter post.

unfortunatly, they could announce better gameplay, improved stats, new ways to stop cheesers, and an all new offline franchise and someone would complain that the coaches dont look life like on the sidelines. so it really doesnt matter what is said, there is always someone to complain. i wouldnt release any info and tell you to roll the dice in august. guess thats why im not part of the marketing team.

Pretty much.

Some people are acting like the marketing heads at EA said this. All this was was a simple "what I'm doing at my job" twitter post.

My point exactly. This isn't an official release or news. Just a twitter post. 160 character or less post. That is all. Perhaps reading first then complaining to make sure the complaints or post has some sort of reason to it.

Step in the right direction, hopefully coaching staffs mean something in the next game so that franchise is playable.

I find it funny that some people are already dismissing the idea of buying madden because of this news...

Madden's graphics are amazing, I just wished they'd focus more on gameplay and improving the features they have right now like franchise mode.

Thanks! That does look like good news. I hope they talk about more than just Madden though. I'd have been more excited if it had said they were sitting down to talk coaching philosphy and gameplan. Still though, at least they're talking to the coaches. **crossing fingers** We'll see what comes from it.

That's why I didn't blast it or anything. I wasn't too impressed by the "news", but since it was just a tweet, it's cool. Now if this had been in a blog or on a press release or something then, I'd prolly be like these other guys.

When are they going to put the authentic team sounds in the game? I.E team chants...like E.A.G.L.E.S or J.E.T.S Jets, Jets, Jets, or Here We Go Steelers, Here We go!....they make the stadium and game atmosphere so much better...weren't we promised this last year?

Scanning coaches doesn't mean they won't make other additions. Be patient, Madden will never be perfect, only because everyone has a complaint.

Side note: Pats fan, love Maestro Belichick, but I like the fictional NE coach in M10...he looks like my old man... Esp when yelling at Randy Moss for doggin it..

Just a week ago people were claiming that they want ANY sort of news about '11 they can find. "Something... anything!"

Now, they get it, and their reaction is, "This is it?"

I honestly consider myself to be pretty patient when it comes to Madden information on a yearly basis. But even I'm getting restless in a sense. And it's not because it's late in the year or anything -- it's only March for what it's worth.

However, it feels like we've gone from 0-60mph, back down to 0 as far as Madden information. In lamer terms, we typically didn't get information until the draft; then we were spoiled with information and early blogs last year. Now it seems we're back to April-ish with any sustainable Madden information.

What we're witnessing now is the aftermath of the failure of constant community interaction last year.

I hope the design team leaks some gameplay news soon. Scanning all the coaches in the NFL is a huge leap for presentation, lets just hope the coaches body proportions are right. Last year it was a huge eyesore to see some of these coaches, same goes for players.

Proportions were AWFUL last year, AWFUL, hopefully this is addressed

Very true.

But the community (some individuals, anyway) are more than worth their share of the blame.
