Madden NFL 11 News Post

A little news is good news, right? It seems the Madden team will be scanning almost every NFL coach over the weekend and we should see them in Madden NFL 11.

Quote from the Madden NFL Art Director, Michael Young.

nice little tidbit, maybe players are next -- I hope they players are at least on their list...

Or At least the players that get that interview at the end of the game, because they looked pretty funny in a ridiculous way.

The more they add to the game to try and make it more realistic is fine with me.

Ok this is all well and good for authenticity and should be a part of Madden.

BUT - The study said the average game of Madden lasts 63 minutes per game. In that 63 minutes I bet you only see a total of 3 minutes of the coach on the sidelines.

So how feasible it is I am not so sure compared to how much effort they might go through to getting their faces in the game and then to show off their implementation.

this is great. now the coaches might actually look like their real life counterparts. i wish they would do the same for the players.

lol, this is exactly what I was thinking. Oh well, I guess it's something, right? A good question would be, now that the coaches look like themselves, will they actually coach like themselves? hmm, I guess we'll find out later. Still, I guess it's a nice lil bit of info.

Yeah, I'd take improved playcalling, even if it meant having no coach on the sideline. But that's not how it works, and probably isn't what the masses would prefer.

Does this include all of the coaches like the assistant coaches and coordinators? If so, this solidifies that early thread claiming that they would be in. I wonder if the Madden team finally found a way to get interactive sidelines in. I hope something is done to keep the presentation fresh.

Weren't coaches already in the game? I played as Dallas and am pretty sure I remember seeing Wade on the sidelines

Yep. I guess he'll be more Wade-like now.

Yeah, that's like last year when they made a big deal about the Thunderbirds in the flyover cutscene, yet they fly by so fast you can't make out any detail at all.

I realize jets fly fast, so don't get me wrong. To clarify, if I remember correctly, they spent a whole blog entry on how they spent a long time making sure to make the Thunderbirds look authentic, when you can't even make them out in the game.

I wish Ncaa would add all the coaches in this years game. But its something small for now till we get the big news later. Keep it coming EA..

Do they need to take credit for even the most nebulous additions?

There was a time a group of developers under the name "VC" would simply make an awesome game with dozens of upgrades to the game every year. They didn't make special announcements everytime they lifted their fingers and coded something into the game like they were doing everybody a big favor.

EA needs to UNDER promise and OVER deliver for once. Just once.
That name wont get you far.

Coaches, check one. Next up will be....lemme guess here, uhmmm. I got it, the first round draft choice rookies wearing their new team colors!

Different year, same ol' crap (and by crap I mean announcements). And yet it will be considered "news".

It's much different then vs now. This is the age of social networking.

Your point is well taken, though.

lol...

You guys are expecting big news this early?

If we don't get Any news people complain, and now that we are getting news about the game people are still complaining lol. Smh. Also none of us know how they will be implementated so it may actually not be all that small. Plus, this was said on Twitter so it's not like this was an official EA blog in which they said this and nothing more.

The way people jump to conclusions with such little info is just amazing to me lol.

If EA could find time in their busy schedule, I'm hoping they can scan an actual NFL Game and show Offline Franchise some respect?

Nice touch, presentation-wise. For all it's worth.

This is nice to see. During the Super Bowl I saw somewhere that they were doing the same scanning but on the top notch players around the league. I just wonder how far that can go in terms of getting everyone.
