The latter.

I'm not big in Franchise. I may get into it, but if I do I'll probably just stick with the current White Sox roster and do what I usually do which is find a way to assemble the greatest pitching staff known to mankind. The funny thing is that the first move I always make is trade for Jake Peavy, looks like I won't need to be doing that this year

So let me get this straight.....

Josh Hamilton has a great 2008, and an awful injury ridden 2009. Get's rated the 2nd best LF.

Carlos Quentin has a great 2008, and a decent injury ridden 2009. Not even in the top 9 for RF.

So, no Beckham, and no Quentin? And Dye is even rated higher than Quentin?

Looks like I am going to have to edit some stuff......

PS: Nick Markakis not being at least top 5 is a crime.

Sounds good.

Looks like the same old outdated stance for Ichiro....

Will we EVER have an accurate, up-to-date batting stance for Ichiro??

Yeah so did I. And according to him (he stated on MLB Network), he can beat B.J. in a footrace. I dont know how true that is, but he is indeed faster than 76 I believe. I would have given him low 80's

# 27 keymax @ 02/26/10 08:05 AM
yikes, that list really really looks bad.

Ichiro with a 52/48 power rating, Upton's and Werth's splits are a bit drastic, Werth also has been one of the best defensive RF the past 3 years and still got a 68? And I really like Maggs, but he doesn't belong anywhere near the top 5. He is in a steady decline past 2 years and his power numbers are ridiculously high for his last year.

And I*m gonna bet money on it that Dye has a great fielding rating like the past years, despite being the worst defensive OF in all of baseball.

Damn, over 30-plus posts and none of you make a mention of J.D. Drew's omission?

Magglio Ordonez has hit .332/.397/.512 over the past three years, which is tops amongst MLB right fielders in that time frame. Did his power suffer a bit in 2009? Obviously, but it makes perfect sense that he is not hurt so bad by one power-sapped season.

Also, besides Drew, Ethier and Markakis, Brad Hawpe is just as defensively inept as Jermaine Dye and Vladimir Guerrero, but easily the better hitter over the past three years, so, why the omission?

# 29 Jamal G. @ 02/26/10 09:33 AM
You know, the more that I think about it, Andre Ethier does not deserve to be on this list. He is a well-below-average defender and does not hit or run the bases to a level that makes him more valuable than guys like Drew or Markakis - two more deserving candidates for this list that should have been included over Dye and Guerrero.

However, I do see an argument for replacing Cruz with Ethier.

How would this list work:

Ichiro
Werth
Upton
Drew
Ordonez
Choo
Markakis
Pence
Ethier

I agree with most you fellas list is far off from being accurate. I thought Pence would've been a little higher.

if you ask me (who is admittedly biased), i think knights created version of Jason Heyward will deservedly be in the top 10 for RFers. Even as a rookie year.

# 32 Perfect Zero @ 02/26/10 11:10 AM
This one does look a bit off. I don't think Cruz should be that high. He's young and he'll get there, but he's not there yet. I think Pence is very underrated, and I'd love to have him on my team any day.

where on earth is nick markakis? Not in the top 9 !? He should be top 5.

The guy is a great overall player. His only weakness is that he's no speed demon, but it's not like he is really slow. Hits for great average, 20+ homeruns a year, good fielder, great arm. Top 10 arms of all outfielders in fact.

I don't like the Orioles, but just cause he plays in Baltimore, does not discount the fact that he is a very good right fielder.
My man.... I know there's some computer system that spits these rankings out, but maybe they should consider changing how they do it.

They need to account for age and significant decline (Jermaine Dye, coughcough.)

This is all splitting hairs to me, no biggie... but it does seem a little odd that Markakis isn't on this list. He's a pleasure to watch.

I had no idea Ichiro was 36 until now. Still has pretty good wheels.
