I'm really surprised to see both Vlad and Dye on the list.

Did Ethier drop dead? Who is taking Choo over Ethier?

# 3 econoodle @ 02/26/10 12:35 AM
at least Swisher is number one in the hair department.

He must have. Really surprised Andre is not on there.

I think Choo is the more complete player in all honesty. However, Ethier should easily be on there over Dye and Vlad.

#1 in the called strike 3 department as well

EDIT: and I assume you mean #1 hair for RF. If you mean in all of baseball, then apparently you haven't heard of Gordon Beckham.

I'm not sure about Shin-Soo Choo's defense and arm so I won't label him a five-tool player, however, Andre Ethier only outproduced him in the HR, RBI, SLG, and R categories. Shin-Soo Choo had a 20-20 season, had a better AVG, OBP, and OPS than Ethier.

However, I'm surprised that Ethier isn't in the top 9, but he's probably 10 or 11 with the same overall as Jermaine Dye.

Choo has, in the words of Frank Costanza, "a rocket for an arm".

At least I'm fairly certain he does.

Yeah, I've never seen him play yet nor have I heard much about him, even though he was on my fantasy baseball squad last season.

# 10 skeem @ 02/26/10 12:51 AM
I agree, ethier should be on this list, at least the top 10

# 11 Bellsprout @ 02/26/10 12:56 AM
Where's Corey Hart, he's so............................................

...............

I don't even believe my own argument.

Pretty good list, though as has been mentioned Ethier not being there seems like some sort of a crime.

WHERE IS NICK MARKAKIS?

Year Games BA Hit HR RBI Runs

2006 147 .291 143 16 62 72
2007 161 .300 191 23 112 97
2008 157 .306 182 20 87 106
2009 161 .298 188 18 87 94
Avg. 157 .298 182 20 94 95

And in the last three years, he has 43 assists, 2nd at right field behind Francoeur. I like how no one mentioned him before me - do any of you follow baseball?

Since when is .300-20-94 with 95 runs and 182 hits year in and year out not place you in the top 5 at your position? It's becasue he plays in Baltimore and no one cares about the Orioles. (Did you notice how Adam Jones wasn't in the top 9 CF either). If he played in New York, Boston, Philly, or LA, he'd be in the top 3/5 for sure.

As Mr. Belding would say, "What is going on here?"

Just throwing this out there, but it is funny you mention Cruz and Park factors, then talk about Swisher who played at Yankee Stadium, in a more potent non pitch around line up to add.

Nick Swisher
BA HR RBI OBP SLG

.249 29 82 .371 .498

Nelson Cruz
BA HR RBI OBP SLG

.260 33 76 .332 .524

Better would be defined with slight bias I think.

It's funny you mention Nick Swisher and the new Yankee Stadium seeing as he had 8 HR's at home and 21 HR's away compared to Nelson Cruz's 18 HR's @ home and 15 HR's away.

And Cruz has 18 at home and 15 away. Means nothing, just throwing it out there, that funny how ones wont take into account lineups they play in as well as stadiums for their own players.

Damn Nick Swisher for playing in band boxes on the road!

Idk if this adds to a players rating but one thing that could be benefiting Cruz is the fact that he was an allstar last year so that could boost his game rating.

Also, Swish's rating probably wasn't too respectable last year considering his .219 BA the year before.

I'd say both factored ultimately in the decision for this rating.

I was wonderin Dye, willl u be signing Jermaine in your franny? or will u let his FA flag fly?

# 19 tazbk @ 02/26/10 02:04 AM
Wow, no Andre Either and no Nick Markakis means unauthentic. Magglio, Dye and Vlad all should not be on this list.

Ichiro well deserving of #1. And my boy Justin Upton is definitely deserving of that 2nd spot. The top 3 are dead on but yeah Nick and Andre should be rounding out that Top 5.

# 20 jcabler24 @ 02/26/10 02:11 AM
I thought Justin Upton was faster than that?
