NBA Live 11 News Post

"Was it all a dream?"

Those were the famous words sung by Faith Evans on the classic Jay-Z album Blueprint 2.

They also happen to be the same words some NBA Live fans are repeating after recently learning that producer Mike Wang is migrating back over to 2K Sports. Obviously, questions remain about the direction of the franchise after the latest news.

While Live fans keep praying for another breakthrough in next year’s release, here are some ideas to ponder.

They spent too many years going in the wrong direction.Getting around to the fundamentals of the game in 2011.Using a locomotion system thats based on a soccer game.

I think the dream game has a great chance of coming, because live 05 and prehaps 04 was already amazingly done, I think they should look back at those two games, espesically 05, they will know what we are talking about, post game, fastbreak, floor spacing, everything was done well. I think if they added the graphics, in terms of how the players look and how the arena look, also improve the basic movements of players, live 11 might be the perfect game. From what we had, I would rank it like this- 05>04>10

This franchise has been mis-managed for far too long, and sadly, is in the swirl going down the drain quickly. I doubt the tailspin this game is in can ever recover with the lead 2K has at this point.

I'm pissed that you called "The Blueprint 2" a classic. Not a good album. C'MON MAN!

But I do agree with the article. However, it's hard to have faith in the game since Wang left.

Live is great this year , and 2K10 is filled with glitch after glitch. You make a pacth that cause more glitches ...

I enjoy it. I have been playing it a lot lately trying to come up with article and ideas and I have fun - even with the flaws. That's what matters the most right so...I hope they continue progress with Live 11.

Do or die year for Live IMO

NBA Live 10 is a very enjoyable and solid basketball game. Flawed, like almost any sports game in the market, but ultimately fun.

I hope they build on the foundation that was laid this year instead of going back to the drawing board.

I have both games, and there are things I love in both of them. I think with extra animations that 2k have they give you more WOW type of moments. Also, 2k's association is great. But, Live as far as gameplay, graphics and atmosphere is a more enjoyable game IMO. It drives me nuts trying to break someone off the dribble in 2k, and I'm doing something I had no business doing because the controls are outdated and ridiculous. I just think that with the bad showing that Live has had the past couple of years no one wants to give the game a shot anymore. But, anyone that has actually sat down and gave Live a real chance they would understand how good the game is, anyone who hasn't played it is missing out on a great game.

You can't throw a decent alley opp unless the guy is 2 feet from the rim and even then he'll brick those for no reason

The CPU can take a guy like Dwight and bring the ball up the court on a fastbreak with crossovers but there are so many fundamental things you are not capable of after seeing that, that its disgusting.

I hate how I cant drive in for a dunk or layup without being bodied up or whatever but the CPU can do a quick drive and dunk and you can't even move because the game has your feet in quicksand to contest it, or in time for that matter.

Im not so sure the fifa thing works because again this game is far too imbalanced.

Love Live Just some tweaks it will be great

# 18 23 @ 02/15/10 11:33 PM
LOL like what man?

What tweaks? How do you solve the weight issue?

How about the over excessive chest bumping and contact?

# 19 rockchisler @ 02/15/10 11:46 PM
I can get to the paint draw contact and get the and 1, It just is very difficult, maybe me and u can get a game in and I can show u a thing or 2...

I agree, completely. There are definitely some things Live needs to better but for me, they're not game breakers, by any stretch. 2K, on the other hand, it's a wrap as far as my pockets go. Unless they fix the overall animation engine to give more control and ditch iso-motion, which is a joke, to me, and I don't think iso motion is going anywhere, unfortunately, they won't ever get my money again. I really like what was done with Live 10 and hope Mike Wang going back to 2K won't hinder the progress for Live 11.
