The game looks awesome! The only concern from the video is at the end when the runner gets tag out at second. Two words - Collision Detection! Hope they are able to fix that prior to release or in a patch. Thought I heard from an interview with Russell that was going to be addressed this year. Otherwise the game looks great!

Here's a mouse-over comparison:

Is it the angle of the shot or did the hitting view get raised ever so slightly? The pitcher's end seems to have been lowered.

It looks that way, but it is the same. The dimensions changes some at Yankee Stadium in the pics, like the grass and chalk, thus it appears that way.

But measuring the pitcher from the batter angles, etc, it is the same.

The watered down area around home plate and the darker outfield walls look to be giving the illusion, but you're right, they're the same angle. You can really tell when you scale the pictures down.

Actually, you guys are both wrong.
The pitcher is allowed to come down at a (maximum of) 45 degree angle if he wants to attempt a pickoff at first or third base.

i just wish they would add balks into the game, allstar baseball 01, (thanks Blzer for the change) for n64 had balks and was very acurate and deep for its time, makes no sense why a next gen game cant have it

I'm betting this will be looked into next year. Interplay Sports Baseball 2000 for PSX had this (along with fake throws and other cool dynamics), and it was awesome to say the least. But as long as there aren't any motions that would consider to be a balk in this game, it's okay if it's excluded for now.

Oh, and I don't want to get all fancy here, but N64 only had ASB 2001, not 2002 (that was for PS2). They also had NFL QB Club 2001, which had a very fun QB Challenge mode.

does this mean that CC Sabathia's cleats will be all white and a blue stripe all around the sole like in real life?

If they aren't, you can just edit them.

I must be the only person stoked about this, but they have include the INSIDE MOVE to 2nd base! Everyone is talking about the 3rd to 1st, but the video reveals the inside move! Awesome!
