MLB 2K10 News Post

Gameinformer has posted a very detailed live journal on Major League Baseball 2K10.

Quote:
"In the skill point menu, new sections have been added for my pitch types. For instance, I can now spend points on my curveball's speed, control, and movement. One nice really touch is having individual skill points rewarded for pitching, fielding, baserunning, and batting. Unlike MLB: The Show, you won't have to needlessly spend pitching points on drag bunting. It looks like I'll earn bunting points for laying down bunts, and fielding points for actually playing my position. Nice."

Only thing I see being the same as last year are the blocky swing animations, throwing animations etc. everything else? Improved by about 25%

So does anyone know more or less at what time this is going up?

If it's any time after about 5:00 PM Pacific and a demo comes up for The Show, 2K may not be able to nab any PS3 users with this gameplay footage.

I hope they put it up early, I really want to see how the presentation is shaping up. If it runs smoothly with its real-time integration, it could certainly be an aesthetically pleasing game, minus some transition animations and overall detail.

Absolutely. They'll already have the 360 users who have this as their only option for a new baseball sim, but if footage even SLIGHTLY appears to live up to the hope, promise, and mystique being generated on the GI blog and here on OS, then they may be able to cut into The Show's buys. Or at least lure some PS3 users to buy both games.

I like the line for his pitcher. Apparently he's not pinpointing his spots and the stats look pretty realistic. 17 games started and only 4 complete games so apparently he fixed that. His whip and K's and era all look nice.
2 innings? I like that...it's enough time to really look at it and take in the gameplay. There had better not be any problems...

I have never uploaded a video, but it does take time to post a video on youtube, or any other site. Maybe 2k told him that 2 innings was the limit. You know how 2k is.

I love the Show, but My Player just sounds loads more fun than RTTS, and doesnt seem to take as long.

Okay, dumb question (I seem to be full of these today)....

Is he playing what amounts to be the "demo", or is he playing what would be a retail copy?

Road to the show is fun, but I feel like there are too many drills, and you have to learn signals and bunting and such.

RTTS would probably be more fun for an outfielder or something, but for a pitcher 2K seems better.

I like how this one seems to revolve around pitching.

well, I think he's on pacific time, and unfortunately, 2K probably has to take a look at the video and approve it before it's released, so we all know that can take awhile.

Probably the gold copy that was also sent to MS/Sony for Certification. Most likely he is playing the final retail copy.

I don't mean to go off topic, but starting a new topic to state the following would be silly, but I find it interesting the difference in postings taken from here and Facebook.

I just read a post on FB asking, "Is it out yet?" Nothing against any of it. I just find it funny how some don't follow like others yet anticipate. It's two different sides of the spectrum.

Uploading videos take a long time if it's HD. For me, saving and uploading a ten minute video and letting it process to 720p 100% of the way takes over three hours or so.
