I just checked the release date this morning on this on gamestop and it says 11/10/2010?? I knew it was coming out "when it is done" but does anyone know if it's really been pushed back 9 months??? That seems like a long time for a game I've read is basically done.

Wouldn't surprise me to see this slip into 2011...
I think the next version will be named "Gran Turismo Forever"
Maybe, or maybe they figure GOW III will be a system seller in the spring and GT5 can use more polish and be huge in November for the christmas system sales...
I agree they don't really share the demographics but with that being said Sony could still figure that they share enough that it would be better to space out the titles. Also, having a blockbuster for November is always good for selling systems for Christmas. I disagree about GOW not being a system seller, I know a couple of folks that have been waiting on that game to buy a PS3. I don't know why as I agree with your analysis that it's not replayable really and has no online but I'm just telling you what i've read about games that sell systems and the people I know that plan to buy a PS3 on March 16.
Of course all of this is speculation...but it wouldn't be the first time a finished title is held back for several reasons: to tweak/polish, to get a better release date to sell more copies, or to have a release date near Christmas to sell systems... or of course a combination of all three.
Also, I read in the recent Game Informer that they GT5 put in Indy and Nascar tracks/cars, etc..perhaps that is the reason for the hold up. All I know is that at this rate each Playstation is only going to have one incarnation of Gran Turismo.
I find nothing wrong with GTs HUD... and that online screen looks clean and highly detailed. I like.
Sorry, not HUD. I meant the menu system. There's nothing wrong with it, I just don't prefer it is all. Just like a good salmon... only I won't think it's that good because I don't like it.
Stolen for neogaf, one of the posters, qorer is his/her name noticed some nice touches i.e. upgrades from GT5P to GT5.
"It is just me or the overall texture work on the track seems to be much improved (over 5P)?
never noticed all those details on the track side and the track itself.. (little flowers, earth between the grass and the... (red and white thing that I forgot the name now, sorry...), the grassed areas seems to "stand out" from the flat ground... ^^
or maybe its just because I never played the game with that camera :P"
GT5P is the top photo and GT5 is the bottom photo and this is the same area of the track from both games and you cans see the noticeable upgrades. The ruts in the ground the track texture, the lighting everything has been stepped up big time.
Major difference in the pics. GT5 is definitely going to look better.
