NCAA Football 11 News Post

Pasta Padre has posted some potential features for the upcoming NCAA Football 11.

Quote:
"A survey distributed by EA may have provided some insight into improvements and new features that are being considered for NCAA Football 11. The questionnaire asks for a selection of the top three out of 13 choices. Included are things like an Athletic Director mode with stadium creator, authentic team entrances, and ESPN style TV presentation. While there is no guarantee any of the options will make it in the game it does stand to reason that some of them will."

Without question, the 3 I'd like to see. Locomotion, college specific gameplay and ESPN style presentation. Given the choices Pasta posted, what would you like to see?

Yeah I'm tired of freshmen qb's from alcorn state coming into tiger stadium and having a passer rating of 200...

i would also like to see updates on the way the players look.. its very unique how the players are devoted to how they look...it's cool

Like with undershirts under the uniforms

example:

1. Locomotion
2. AD Mode, which should also get us the coaching carousels and coordinators
3. ESPN style presentation

Do NOT waste time on:
1. Play from QB point of view ... it's called Road to Glory, leave it there
2. Signature coaching plays ... can someone say "Money Plays"

Top 3.

-Locomotion Gameplay- NCAA has needed this since it's inception.
-Authentic Offensive Styles of play. I want USC to play like USC and Florida to play like Florida.
-Team Entrances-One of my favorite things about NCAA 04 was when the ND players hit the "Play Like A Champion" sign before home games and when Miami came out of the smoke and fog in the old Orange Bowl.

A deeper look seems like a lot of these are complimentary.

With Authentic Offensive Styles of Play wouldn't that include Spread and No Huddle Spread Gameplay? If teams are running their specific styles and the run spread there shouldn't be a question. Just don't over do it with this or we could could have the "wide open gameplay" nonsense from a few years ago.

-Make last minute changes based on what you see.
Can't we do this already?

-Streamlined playcalling.
Seems like a simple GUI change to me.

-Coaching Carousels-This may be a bit more difficult and time consuming to implement. I say get everything on the field to work properly before this is added.

-Signature Coaching Plays
This seems like it's similar to the coach feedback NCAA BB 10. I like it.

-AD mode with Stadium Builder
Great idea and could be great, but this new mode seems like it would take a ton of time and money to implement. Will other features be taken out because of this disc hog? It also seems like a feature that could take multiple years to get it to work right.

-College Specific Gameplay
A must have and seems like a lot of it revolves around playcalling, team styles, and Locomotion gameplay. When examples such as "broken sack animations" are used I always think it will be overdone.

-Active Real Life Coaches and Coordinators.
If it costs a ton of money to be able to add their names to the game then forget it. Just allow us to edit the names.

-ESPN/CBS/ABC Broadcast Style
Words cannot describe what this has done for the NCAA BB series. This seems like it would take a lot of time to implement but presentation, attention to rivalries, and bowl games COMBINED with team entrances creates a BIG TIME college atmosphere.

-Play from a new QB specific angle
Just add a camera angle? Seems simple.

I'd like to add a request...no wait...beg the dev team to give us the exact same game speed options as Madden 10. Slower more realistic gameplay speed with new Locomotion Gameplay would improve this game by leaps and bounds.

I agree 100% and to add to that I'd like to see 10-15 different throwing styles. Something similar to what Madden offers would be pretty dope.

Although EA is looking for our top 3, I read some where they were only looking at implementing one new feature for '11. So the fans better choose wisely.

Most of this shouldnt take a while to implement. The only things that I could see being very time consuming are the broadcast and the AD mode. Beyond that, nothing should really take that long. I sincerely hope that an AD Mode is in over the ESPN broadcast style. Words cannot describe how stale Dynasty Mode has gotten. Adding in the Athletic Director Mode would give it brand new life. And if they are able to put in authentic team entrances, along with the chain gang and the other stuff from Madden, it would surely hold us over, presentation wise, that they dont need to implement the ESPN style broadcast just yet, as long as they show Corso and Herbstreit making the picks.

1. Locomotion, physics, etc.
2. ESPN presentation (ESPN2 and ESPNU would be nice as well)
3. Coaching carousel

In addition to the ones that everyone else wants i would also love to see:
a true acc clock just like madden
team entr.
formation subs
better presentation

better prog. lighting, or better yet let us choose what time the game starts.

auto subs that work ( i still cant get them to work at all)

the bands in the stands with the sun or lights glaring off their instruments.

This may make me sound foolish because it's probably already been mentioned, but beside the fact that ESPN would be a great addition, all I want is the FCS SCHOOLS! Yes, that means the Big South Conference!

Anyone else with me on this?
I'm a current student at a University that plays football and basketball in the Big South Conference. Thank gosh we're on NCAA Basketball, maybey next year our school will make it to EA Sport's College football game.

locomotion
formation subs
no jump the snap
no pre play guess crap
acc clock for the whole game

i know the last 4 arent listed, but its vital formation subs finally are in ncaa for the 360. the rosters cant be updated obviously, and by definition they are going to be inaccurate because its impossible to get everything right, but they have to give us formation subs so we can at least make some changes on the fly since they wont let us save the online roster for depth chart purposes. i dont even have the desire to play an online game because i have to make so many changes to my roster before starting to even make it somewhat realistic.

spread out the ratings and stop with this homer, top 10 teams, traditional powers getting super boosted ratings crap. southern cal had the 43rd ranked defense in the nation this year yet next year all their starters will probably be rated 90+. it ruins the game especially when 3rd stringers on good teams are rated as high as all conference players on lesser programs.

papaperry you bring up an interesting point that makes me think about how nagging injuries can affect the game. we have the option this year to bring guys back early and there is a reinjury risk, but what about that injury affecting their gameplay while they arent 100%. the center with a hurt hand risks a bad snap or a non center at center risks a bad snap. the longsnapper idea is good but with the smaller rosters i dont know if its feasible. offensive players with hurt fingers, hand, arm, ribs should be more susceptible to fumbling or drops. lower extremity injuries should zap some of mobility and speed.

i honestly wouldnt care about the perfect 3d renderings of each stadium and most realistic skyline if they got the gameplay right.

1. Running looks rediculous, if locomotion fixes that then locomotion
2. Authentic styles of play
3. (Write In) I'm so sick and tired of Noel Devine feeling just like any other back when I run with him. He should feel different so we need signature styles of running and moves.
such as:
Reggie Bush
Adrian Peterson
etc...
So if you select the Reggie Bush signature style then the player that has that style will run, cut, dive etc... like Reggie Bush.

This will help with the Locomotion aspect alot of you guys are wanting, and I agree with you.

I would also like to see better interaction between offensive and defensive line play that would include the implementation of zone blocking schemes.

Finally, passing. Lets at least go back to the way it was in 09 or even better more like MADDEN. tHE PASSING NOW IS SO HARD AND FAST, NEEDS TO BE SLOWED DOWN, SMOOTHER.

That would be my 3, and if we got all of those I think the gameplay would be great.

Presentation should not even be talked about. Not even an option for us because it should already be in the game year in and year out.

If the DEVS need more space, get rid of the MASCOT game!
No, don't slow the game down too much EA, if you do that then you lose the explosion of a Noel Devine or a C.J. Spiller. I hate playing Madden 10 and watching Chris Johnson BURST (sarcasm) through the whole at like 2 mph and then waiting like 20 seconds for him to finally make it to the end zone.

# 156 bamaCT12 @ 12/22/09 07:44 PM
Oh, and we desperatley need Formation Subs and when you play dynasty things like the Heisman race need to be realistic, I'm tired of seeing people like Tim Tebow drop completley out of the race, in other words, highly rated players need to be more dominant.
For teams like USC and Alabama there needs to be a way to sub running backs in and out of the game because USC runs like 3-4 running backs a game, so when I look at the stats at the end of my dynasty, I don't want to see McKnight getting 99% of the carries.

# 157 DATCAMERAMAN ah @ 12/23/09 06:34 AM
how about putting it all in the game.
last time i checked , it was a college football game, and all those feature are apart of college football so why wouldnt they be emulated in the game??
c'mon EA step up and give us a great game next year!!

# 158 Cowboys Fan 85 @ 12/23/09 11:59 AM
How is most of this stuff not in there already?

# 159 canes21 @ 12/23/09 10:31 PM
The old gen games + next gen graphics awesome. The only things I want from current gen is OD's, Roster Sharing, Graphics. Locomotion and all from last gen = the best

# 160 Herky @ 12/24/09 01:58 AM
One potential feature I'd like to see is a new development team.
