I agree with ND, this is a college game. EA can't make them have tattoos or headbands without getting into trouble. We can go and make those changes ourselves. I'd rather see polished game play instead.

YES TO NUMBER 2?!

Wow so sliders have numbers? I'm very happy now...

Not that I wouldn't love to see my players replicated, but lets be realistic. It's a college game, there are so many players. You can't please everyone. But if I'm in the minority, big deal. A game is about how it plays not whether a player has tatoos or the right hair style.

Pretty clear 2k set the collegiate bar, not a slappy but the game was excellent. EA is simply driving down the road on a flat by putting air in the flat instead of changing the tire.
You can't take a terrible game and turn it into the best basketball game ever made the next year. The Live series was a disaster several years, but they've taken baby steps and now it's a pretty good (but not perfect) game.

I think NCAA BB has been taking bigger steps than any other EA sports franchise. The game was HORRIBLE when it first came out for next gen, and now is a solid title. I think last year was decent, but far short of 2K8, at least this year they're doing lots of things right.

The bottom line, is a lot of people on here are acting like this game is complete crap, and that simply is not true. It's funny when people criticize Madden for not making major changes year after year, and when NCAA BB DOES take big steps to improve the game, many people on OS instead switch to focusing on trivialities. They will never be pleased, no matter what EA does to improve the game.

To the rest of us, this game should be a very good upgrade to 09, and we will enjoy the game.

they need an overhaul and refuse to do it. Is that clear enough?
So what do you improve? Perfection? Why would something need to be improved? Because it has flaws right? So again, improving upon a flawed product is improvement.

Did you play '09? And have you played '10? If so, are you telling me there are no improvements to this game from last year to this year?

What game doesn't have flaws? I thought NCAA 09 was definitely a step in the best direction, and adding the real CBS tourney presentation is also a great thing so why do so many people wanna hate on this game? Especially when most of us haven't played it or have played it for only 1 day.

If you guys don't like the game, which you haven't even played yet, can you just stop with the posts about how awful it is and how youre never going to buy it. Some of us want actual info on the game and have questions. I don't care about whether or not you are going to buy the game and having to sift through all of that is annoying.

Well said.

Jeez that's incredibly rude, especially considering CB has the game and has been giving us impressions on it. I think he's in a better position to determine gameplay has improved or not.

Don't bother responding to such absurd posts, your game impressions are far more valuable

Some people forget that even 2K8 was far from perfect, and didn't get stellar reviews compared to other years of the series.

Man I'm glad to hear some good reports on this game even though I'm gonna get it no matter what. I'm just bummed that I'm not playing it right now like some of you are. One thing that caught my eye in the demo was how the net actually rips this year unlike in the past. There seems to be a lifelike rip of the net on made baskets. Very awesome!

I simply call it like I see it. We have been spoonfed inferior releases in college series ever since next gen hit.
Well certainly the NCAA releases have not been stellar, but there have been strides made to make this game better(I really can't say that about football though)

You're not even making points, you're just being incredibly rude to someone who is taking his time away from the game to post his impressions, and he has been fairly objective, all for the sake of expressing your hatred of the series. It's fine if you don't like the game, but please don't tell someone off who has actually played the game, and is a very well respected member on here.

I'd really think it would be more productive to hear criticisms/praises from the people who actually own and are playing the game, which is the point of an impressions thread.

Great post! This thread should be impressions and questions only.

anyways.....really enjoying the game on All-American default. Played Northern Colorado for a half and led 44-23. Played a game of UNC vs Duke and the score was tied at the half 26-26. These were 20 minute halves.

One thing that is bothering me is the excessive And 1 conversions by the cpu on this level. Also, still trying to find a balance for the foul sliders. Fatigue I have at 55 like last year and its been working out for me.

Im not judging them on tats myself but I would love to have this game trounce CH2k8 in a big way.

As of right now it seems they are far far away from that and its disappointing. Its never good to have less customizations, everyone shooting the same jumpshot, using the same flawed costmetic layups and moves that the NBA game had that was finished months prior.

Im just very disappointed because I expected more than sim stats and 5 star recruits to take up most of the dev time

You are right. The game has improved in very important areas, and the fun factor seems to have increased quite a bit. Presentation looks absolutely jaw-dropping, and the game is still a "buy" for me.

The collection of missing "trivial" features adds up though and is pretty disappointing.

Little things missing:
- Unlimited arena select
- CPU indicators
- Tattoos
- Custom roster face editor
- Ability to designate rotation minutes
- Frequently used announcer database of names
- Ability to redshirt players
- Ability to edit class
- Custom shot animations
- Injuries
- Rating tendencies
- Global rating editor
- Multi-Team dynasties
- Exportable draft classes
- Classic teams (not so little) (big WTF moment for me)

I'm sure others could think of more. These are little things, but if added together, they would give the game so much more value. It will still be a "fun" game, and I will still enjoy it. But it could be much more. 90% of this list needs to be a very high priority for NCAA 11 (along with dynasty mode).

Good to hear, very good to hear.

CB thanks for getting to my question man! That makes me happy.

I know I may be crazy, but I had fun with the game last year. Everything posted thus far makes me believe I will enjoy this one even more.

I just love college basketball...
