unimpressed.

-crowds appear to be loud and not so loud at random. theres a strange looping effect I hear, as if the sound is always on, at a very low level. Its very hard to describe but it tends to hurt my eears if you zone in on it
-tons and tons of sound and actual frame hiccups as someone else mentioned here. It almost makes the game unplayable. I had two jumpshots basically FREEZE in midshot. Is this a demo issue?
-fouls seem random as I go into the paint
-lots of robotic blocks/contextual foul animations
-FTs IMPOSSIBLE on All-American. way too fast

its a fun game and ill give it its due as I do all games, but please play the demo and take your own word. youll hear varying reports, from the best game ever, to just above mediocre. yet noone is wrong. so take that word of caution ps3 fans

I didn't understand the whole motion offense deal when I heard about it. Now that I tried it wow it's pretty cool. Presentation is very good. Really not feeling the commentary however. Obviously plays alot like live which is a good thing IMO. I gave up on live pretty early because 2k was really good. However I had to shelf 2k till the patch because of the framerate issues which I'm very glad happened. I got into live and started to really appreciate alot of the good stuff that's in there. Don't get me wrong 2k is going back in at 2am pst but I'm happy to say it looks like I'll get to enjoy ea basketball as well judging by the demo. Please don't eff up dynasty.

I have bought this title every single year, but I thought that might change this year. However, I think the demo might have pulled me back to purchase mode. It might be difficult going back and forth from 2k10 to this throughout the year but might change with time....Hey I made it work last year.

Good: CBS presentation was very nice especially the starting lineups, the crowd was insane and it was actually a challenge to shoot free throws on the road, the refs were really animated on some calls like they do in real life (might seem small but was a nice touch especially for true hoopas like me), Offensive movement was on point and the motion plays were a nice touch, commentary was not silent at times like it was in the videos, cpu finally doesn't suck anymore, etc.

Bad: A lot of the blocks look like poo, there is still that invisible wall between players (when a block should occur or contact should be made but doesn't happen ), the main screen is exactly the same as lasy year (they just changed the player).....man I hate that outdoor court.......the one like 2 or three years ago was okay but not this one, seems like you can abuse the turbo button all game because stamina is non-existent, players sometimes travel when contact is made (nothing is called and a 3 point play magically occurs), etc

I think that the demo was great, and it might have actually got me back to where I used to be in reference to being hyped about getting it on the release date.

PS3 guy here...how's the offensive to defensive rebounding ratio? Last year it was completely skewed towards the defensive side, and the sliders for were broken. This, along with the zone defense bug, were the two biggest issues for me last year.

Hoping its just the demo, but I'm not to into the crowd noise. There really aren't too many ups and downs in regard to the noise. Sounds like constant "noise" to me, even had one game where they got stuck in a boo. They booed me all game, the home-team and I was winning. Just one of those hiccups I guess.

Gameplay is very similar to Live, big improvement from last year. Animations seem clunky to me at times and inside the paint just doesn't flow the way I would like. Love the drive and kick game though, especially with the analog passing. Had a great fastbreak off a made basket. The shooter who made it fell down, so I quickly ran the ball down court and used the analog pass to find a wide open singler for three before the defender who fell down could make it back.

Good game, still a rent-first for me to check out the dynasty. I can see how this game would be fun if I played exhibitions all the time or against users.

Thanks.

Normally, a college team will grab 30% to 40% of their rebounds as offensive boards. For it to be as skewed as it was in 09 pretty much killed the game for me.

One more thing, has anyone noticed any held balls or tie-ups? This is such a big part of college ball as well. I doubt they'll have it, it would be sweet if they did.

Maybe I went a little overboard......don't know if I'm back to first day purchase just yet. I might be judt extra feelin the CBS stuff right now. Gameplay doesn't just blow me away. Plus, the 2k10 patch is about to drop in a few hours....lol. For real if College Hoops 2k would have had this CBS stuff, LAWD HAMMMUCCY......(Me singing) Let the church say aaaaaaaaamen, let the church say aaaaaamen, aaaaaaaamen, aaaaaaamen, aaaaamen

the presentation and stats in game are a nice addition. I still hear the same fight songs in the back ground. Timeouts look the same, player models are a little better. Crowd is definitely much better. Ive only played it once though so maybe it just needs to grow on me a little more. Hopefully they revamped the dynasty a little. I think the full game will be sweet overall.

Since I really Dig presentation in Games, this looks very good for me. Excellent touch by showing different stats during the game, Teams performance, Top 25, and Conference standing. The Commentary was not to shabby though, dont know what all the complaining is about, it will get the job done.

Hopefully the Dynasty will be good, Im buying this game reguardless though

Something about this demo just feels....right. It feels better than Live in some ways, what those ways are I'm not entirely sure. But I'm definitely excited

I thought if you hit R3 once it will turn your player to post up.

# 112 xxslim502xx @ 11/06/09 04:13 AM
r3 does post up but how do you do post up moveS? also please tell me there is a way to turn that annoying motion indicator off in the real game..the popup telling me to hit LB 5 times a possesion is very annoying. if that and the CPU ballhandler name is fixed then we got a winner, this game is 100% better then 09 plus if we get the sliders working with a good set this game will be the sh!!t

I'm experiencing this too.......I hope this is just a problem for the demo......to me this is a game killer. Anybody else having this issue???

# 114 xxslim502xx @ 11/06/09 05:02 AM
the 23 zone has not been fixed there is still too many deflections, maybe sliders will fix this anybody know if in 09 if u turned down the steal sliders that it would fix the deflections?

# 115 xxslim502xx @ 11/06/09 05:18 AM

So how long will this demo be for gold members only?

# 118 Tomba @ 11/06/09 09:27 AM
Seriously this game has improved 10 fold...

I'm REALLY liking this one guys...

The presentation, graphical style ,movement and animations all click.

It's not A+ stuff but it sure is solid stuff.

Can't wait for the full retail.

Something about it that makes it feel fun like CH2k2 on gamecube. And THATS a compliment coming from me I absolutely loved that game.

The very first things I noticed about the game left me completely underwhelmed. I just couldnt help thinking that the gameplay engine felt a few years old and lacked polish.

Players look bit overly bulky as if the design team evaluated previous year's players and said we need to beef them up

Gameplay feels artificially sped up and stiff rather than a more natural realistic quick paced college game.

Range of motion and player movement feels very limited a little too precanned

Some of the passing down court looks horrendously unnatural like straight bullet passes rather than having amore natural trajectory to them

Players under the boards have that Pop Tart toaster oven spring to their jumps that was carried over from the previous engine

The splash screens, pop ups, commentary...... everything just feels like its running at 1.5X speed

I completely agree that the gameplay and animations feels like a step back from Live.....and is even further back from the natural lifelike feel of 2K10

I didnt get that...."WOW this game is so devilishly addictive" feel that I got when playing CH2K8 or even Live 10 for the first time

However, I do think the CBS presentation adds tremendously to the presentation of the game

Im somewhat dissapointed....

They've captured the college spirit though...

College ball is fast. the game feels calculated as well because plays stop and wait to be developed.

The lack of polish was in 07 08 AND 09. This year completely different feeling. YES it's taken on a more arcade approach and far less sim. BUT I never felft a college game could be played sim due to the fact that how ard it was to make and create real players/rosters for a college game. This way what EA have done is just captured the spirit of your favorite team so that you can play a good round with them.

i thoroughly enjoy it and can not wait for the retail...

Seriously NBA Live is good at "trying" to be sim but it still offers great gameplay the way this game does. It's just that NCAA Basketball 2010 is much more honest with it's approach. The graphical UPGRADE and thats what i like calling it is very smooth looking. and the presentation?! Ohh man it sounds and looks great. Don't know how repetive the dialogue might get but right now the best in any college game so far other than a real one being broadcast on CBS lol.

Not A+ stuff but solid...

Couldn't have said this better myself. I so agree. I played a couple of games and went back to LIVE. Thought to myself, well it is only a demo, I am sure they retail copy will be far more polished.
