NBA Live 10 News Post

EA has posted another NBA Live 10 blog. This one covers, shooting the rock. Screenshots and 10 minute gameplay video included.

"Hi again Live fans. Well, this is the last gameplay blog you guys will see before the NBA Live 10 demo hits PSN and XBL next week. I’m really looking forward to seeing all your homemade videos and reading your feedback. Keep in mind that the demo isn’t final code, so it’s really just a taste of what you’ll see in the full game. Take my word for it, one of the real strengths of Live this year is playing with and against all the different players and teams, which unfortunately, you won’t be able to do in the demo. But I’ll let Novell speak in more detail on just how deep the AI upgrade was this year and how we took player/team differentiation to the next level with Dynamic DNA. I know you sim-heads out there are gonna love it, so expect that blog in the near future.

But with the demo coming soon, we thought it would be good to give you one more tutorial to help you hit the ground running with some of the new gameplay mechanics. And today we’ll talk about everybody’s favorite subject: shooting the basketball."

At 4:34 of the shooting tutorial vid watch the highlights screen at the back and it looks like the shooter got tripped.

Yeah and Marv even mentioned it.. "Bargnani looks like he got hit on the drive... we'll see if he can continue the game."

I don't know what they did to the replays, but they look awesome now... the angle or something made all the difference.

Gameplay vid was hot, don't know what else to say. I'm in love.

WOW....after watching that gameplay footage, I think it's safe to say that this game has made the biggest 1 year leap in history of video game b-ball. There's is truly a night and day difference.

Great work EA

Great work EA
maybe in the history of sports gaming, excluding a title from one generation to another generation

And remember (especially those of you who played Live 09) what a big difference DNA made by the time the season was over. So much data was available that the game played much tighter and more realistically than it did at release, even with the limited animations and other issues it had. If Da_Czar was that impressed with the game using DNA info from last year (don't know how they even handle rookies or guys who were injured most of the season in those cases), imagine how nice the game will be running after the All-Star break or at the end of the season after 5 months of tendencies and ratings data has been fed through the game.

Haven't been this excited about a game release in a long time.

In the same section Derozan looked was limping after a layup like he twisted his ankle.

I'm starting to not even care about dynasty i will be happy with 09 dynasty cause this is going to be amazing

DNA was actually a huge disappointment for me in 09, the tendencies were all messed up for me, especially when it came shooting threes and attacking the hoop, though judging by Da Czar and that huge gameplay vid, the tendencies look great in Live 10

Those post game highlights were just SICK. I can't wait to get this game in my hands. Absolutely a thing of beauty. Atmosphere is insane, graphically, looks like a real game. Player antics are a thing of beauty... All around, amazed thus far.

Wow this game looks amazing IDK im just in shock this and live 09 is like day and night, cant believe how much can be don ein just one year. I like how D-Will fell after he got whacked by Bosh on the pick, and how loud the crowd was in the Knicks VS Warriors game.

One of my favorite things about that video was how much of a gunner CPU Steph Curry was (the Warriors in general, but that dude especially had no conscience). Gonna be so fun to watch the different styles and player attitudes play out...

I think I'll be watching a fair amount of CPU vs CPU games too just to absorb everything since it's kinda hard to notice the big picture when you're focusing on controlling the team. The off-ball movement was great too -- seemed like everyone was always doing something and I can see already that I'll be burning up the right stick making passes to open men for the jumper... spacing looks like a lot of fun.

EDIT: Jaosming, maybe the prominent Adidas sign and the practice jersey-like attire means that's the Live Run mode. That would go along with my hypothesis that it's an online team play mode... looks like created players too, but can't tell really since it's a small screen.

Love it.

In the shooting tutorial the sequence with Wade starting around 8:55 is incredible. The smoothness of the animations branching together is a thing of beauty. The player movement simply can NOT be matched.

The differences between Wade-Bron-Roy are blatant in the best possible way.

Can't wait to cut up defenses off the dribble this year before dropping a eurostep, or maybe a floater, or maybe a freestyle pass to my big who's now wide open because the help D rotated...my goodness the options!

Is it october 6th yet!? This is my favourite development team of any game, you guys better stay together for Live 11!

My only complaint is that all the chants I heard were "GO (team) GO". That chant has never been at the ACC before, it's "Let's go Raptors!". Other than that the crowd looked incredible at the ACC.

Game looks amazing. My only concern is that the majority of all possessions in the computer vs computer gameplay, ended in a drive to the hoop with a layup. I'm sure it can be changed with sliders, but IMO there were way to many layups and not enough jump shots.

# 38 greenegt @ 09/04/09 03:40 PM
The wait for this game is excruciating...

# 39 Stumbleweed @ 09/04/09 03:40 PM
Eh? The Knicks-Warriors was a CPU-only game and they were popping jumpers everywhere just like they do IRL.

# 40 23 @ 09/04/09 03:42 PM
Man calderon did that layup and got pushed down and the refs let it go

The sound even on this is nuts

I cant wait to hear it in 5.1... wow the crowd is nuts. Im going to T-Dot for a road game because it seems intense
