Pics look great to me. They look a bit more life like compared to 2k9. 2k10 should be really good.

Let's not look too much into these screens. There are a few tangible things we can say, but that's not much.

On the plus side, some faces, like J-Rich, look improved. Also, they finally got the Suns court right; it's been light-shaded in the paint since 2007-08, and after 2 releases of being wrong, 2K fixed it.

Also, please remember our first-look screens of 2K8 and how much people freaked out over those:

Regarding the "build," the IGN guys played a streamlined version with lower-resolution textures, but these screenshots are not from that session, so we don't know how composed they are.

A few other comments before I go to bed:

Bad: Dwight Howard's arm sleeve looks like it will be white. Even if they change the color, I doubt they will have the correct texture (adidas Techfit).

Good: Look at the faces on the players as they watch a fastbreak dunk. That is one of the many things I love about those Richardson pics.

I think it looks great.

These look great. I am worried about what the IGN writer said about skin and eyes popping out in weird spots because 2K9 had the exact same thing. 2K9 also had players with their mouths straight and closed most of the time (even when running hard in action), and it looks like 2K10 will be the same way.

One thing I noticed (I haven't read the entire thread) is that the players have their compression shirts. Kobe and Dwight have theirs showing in the picture with everyone crowded in the paint.

Another thing is that the legs look a bit thick. Kobe and KG look a little off in their pic because their legs are big. 2K should remodel the lower half of the legs if they can.

I see you, Rip!
Screenshots are looking alright, sure they'll get better like usual.

Like I said, these guys should put out a disclaimer before they release early media, because of the over reactors

Yeah but they jacked Kobe up though! My favorite player in the NBA...

Everytime I see this Kobe picture, I think:

I know and I get what you saying

in the article they stated this below

I had a great time playing NBA 2K10, but the visuals still needed some improvements. I was told that the build I was seeing was a submission build so many of the texture filters and effects had been turned off to solidify the framerate. Hopefully once the switch is flipped things will have the required sheen that I'm used to. I saw players skin clipping through jerseys and their eyes were affixed to a far off space where something very entertaining was apparently happening. Player's faces looked good thanks to technology from ImageMetrics (the same blokes that did GTA IV's faces) but the textures on players' bodies looked too rigid to have the usual look of realism. Here's hoping that these issues were due to the build I was playing and not because of problems that are permanently installed

Looks pretty alright, but the jerseys still look like cardboard boxes on the players. They need to improve on that, but the most important thing is the gameplay, and that pic of kobe dunking over pp and RA, says that its still going to be a dunkfest online.

Kobe doesnt get that high anymore, I really dont get why they overrate his dunking soo much in games. They need to tone down dunks and have more realistic body collision when players try to force dunks.

Kobe-haters can always get his dunk and vertical ratings to 0 and change his dunk package to Nash's

Have you ever actually seen a cardboard box?

Kobe doesnt get that high anymore,
2K should add a "How many Inches/Feet when players jump off the ground" Slider to fix that then.

don't get too excited over pics fellas Last year they did the same thing but when the game came out it looked nothing like the pictures...im not impressed and i just hope 2k will be better this year b/c last year was a mess. sliding, no defense and a dunkfest. please 2k show some videos showing that that stuff is fixed this year. cause 2k9 was a big letdown for me.

# 38 jmood88 @ 08/20/09 09:57 PM
The graphics are great in 2k9, I don't know what you were looking at.

# 39 ProfessaPackMan @ 08/20/09 10:24 PM
Yea, graphics were the least of 2K's problems last year.
