Okay...they need to show some gameplay...and there is some major interference in that video.

Skating with the puck still looks odd.
It's not going to prevent me from playing this game, but the players still look like they have a broom handle up their butts.

I really liked the side-step and the protect-puck animations. I just pray they're moves that won't require the dial-a-deke control scheme. I would hope I can do both with the analog stick.

Also, I though there was supposed to be some real info about the game today too. Not just a teaser trailer. I hope that's true.

I like what I saw. Also, very pleased with the skating animations. Have you ever played hockey? Those movements seen in the trailer look really real. One thing that bugs me is the goalie models, with their square shoulders, but what can you do. I'll rent both, and see from there.

lol, no. But with the arm swinging from side to side , that is something very natural to hockey players. I see it in this video. Whatever though, no big deal, i won't buy this game solely for the skating animations.

The problem from years past that they mostly fixed is the stick and how it's being held. The last couple of years, players held their sticks too high up on the shaft and too close to their torso. That's what gives them their "skating with stick in butt" look. That animation can still be seen, but they seem to have added upper body movement animations so it's not as continuious and noticable.
The skating with one hand on the stick looks really good. It's the stickhandling with two hands while slowly moving up the ice that looks odd.
But again, it won't prevent me from playing this game.

2k has the best arena models. That looks amazing. I could easily mistake it for a real picture.

I agree with you entirely. I am big on presentation, and want as close to NHL feel and experience as possible, seeing how I am spoiled in having the Montreal Canadiens in my city. The bell centre illuminates and goes crazy when they step on the ice. I am sure it's the same elsewhere in certain cities, but Montreal is just known for that. Anyways, in the recent years, i've purchased EA games from 07' to 09', my last 2k hockey game was NHL 2k6 with Mats Sundin on the cover, and loved that game. Last year's 2k game left a sour taste in my mouth, and I'm sort of hesitant of getting it this year. I will give it a look though, i could even get myself to buy it!!

Overall, I liked what I saw....but the number fonts still look off (numbers are too big on the Flyers jerseys), and the Flyers logo on the helmet is waaaaaaaaaaay too huge. Nitpicky stuff I know, but annoying that they overlook these details.

Briere's cyber looked pretty spot on, and the arenas look fantastic!

There are some real impressive screenshots there...

The Tank and Atlanta arena look AMAZING!!

Wow, looks pretty good! The cleaned up the passing animations so they are not so slow and rigid.

If 2k can put in a really good AI, this will be a great game. If not...

The screens look good. I liked the pic of the Winter Classic at Wrigley. I wonder if they will have Fenway in for this years Winter Classic, or at least be able to download it later.

Absolutely love the skating animations. Looks like a major improvement from 2k9. The best looks to be getting better IMHO.
Love the goalie animations too.

Scott and Eddie...I must say it is uncanny how often you guys post consecutively.

Strange.

It's the power of 2k hockey, can't you feel it. We are in sync. 2k brothers for life.

Are they going to let those great introductions happen during season play this year? I couldn't understand their decision last year to only have them in exhibition and playoff games.

I would trade the game back if that was the case this year, seriously.
