The skating looks good and all...

but the trailer sucks. What does a goal that happened in the beginning of AO's career have anything to do with being a relevant focus point for the trailer. Man...2k is annoying the hell out of me this year.

what I don't get is: EA is dominating the NHL brand, and if 2k has any shot at persuading gamers to buy their game, they should be marketing their product a bit more, and not give us a 'TEASER' trailer to generate excitement. Honestly, if you're game was good to start with, maybe I'll understand the (very) late Teaser trailer, but your previous game was an O.K game at most that needs a lot of improvement. Hopefully, they come out with actual game play videos and give us a clear indication of what to expect come September. I tend not to get too carried away about these things, i buy EA every year, but 2k, I don't know if their marketing team consists of 1 person or wtv, but if they have ANY shot at competing with EA, they should start promoting this game, (we should have gameplay footage by now) ASAP.

"Is party now?" Really?

Not much to say as it obviously wasn't in-game footage.

Wow. So, forget the fact that the trailer shows that they've improved the skating, faces, and you can actually do moves out of stumbles like that. You're complaining about relevance of a scene that highlights a moment in the career of the cover athlete? What would you have rather seen man?

Well at least we got a vid...

See you guys in a month or so when trailer 2 comes out.

Ovechkin looks like Kurt Suzuki in that vid.

2K went away from cutscenes a long time ago. That's in game footage. How is it "obviously" not?

The clip looks like something that would come from the game intro. If the clip is truly representative of the gameplay, I think the game is way too arcade --- shots from your back, passive defense, etc.

Again, not much to say based on the short clip. I look forward to more detailed videos showing someone actually playing the game.

Its pretty simple really. In comparison to EA, which I personally know 100 times more about due to their phenomenal marketing, 2k has proceeded to release a video that shows something that they claim rarely happens...

so basically a video which represents a small fraction of the experience. I want some substance at this point. Currently 2k is so far behind in the PR department that the effort that they ARE going to expend should be spent on something that actually shows us something of relevance...not a replication of a goal that happened almost 3 years ago that will likely never happen again and probably shouldn't be attainable in a video game...

I like the idea of the new graphics.
I like the new skating.
I like the return to the sim roots.
I like the stumble shots.

At this point, however, if they are going to be making videos they need to be informative and relevant. This one minute vid showed me almost nothing.

I will say that the trailer was disappointing, but C'mon Flyers. Even when they give us actual gameplay footage, you know as well as I do, it will be played by some nobody on default settings. Ea's gameplay footage looked awful IMO, due to the fact that really we really can't count on what we're lookin for from these gamesite videos. I think the only way to truely tell just how good or bad each game will be is from hands on(not the demos either), though those will be better than these gamesite videos.

I will agree that information on 2k10 has been a little slow and dissapointing.

But for TEASER this wasn't bad. I mean I remember when AO did the original goal against PHX. I was dying. Same thing with the Crosby Goal and Nash.
Why do all the great ones abuse the Coyotes.

It's a TEASER trailer. Showed 3 OBVIOUS items. Anyone see the first teaser for Modern Warfare II? That didn't show anything at all. Yet, people were all happy. Of course the defender did nothing - it wasn't intended to show you improved defensive AI. It was to show you a new capability.

But regardless of all of that, if they just showed gameplay in a teaser, then it's no longer a teaser. Take it for what it is and give the devs some credit in what they're trying to do instead of spit on things that are tangent of the point of the trailer.

I'll take any gameplay videos as you still get to see & tell a lot from seeing the CPU AI, both offensively and defensively.

This trailer doesn't show me enough. And that's all I'm going to say about that. Real-time gameplay will make people happy, so if I were 2K I would send preview builds away ASAP. And what the heck is up with that tagline? Is Borat involved with this game in any way?

EDIT: I didn't notice this in the trailer but the goalies don't have the "hunched over" idle animation anymore, nor do they cover 90% of the net. Graphics are a lot more proportional and uniforms are a lot more detailed IMO but not the big leap I thought the screenshots conveyed.

That looked pretty good.. BUt again, I want to see some blogs, have them focus on 1 area of the game per week aka Top shelf tuesdays or Football fridays with Nfl2k5... A while ago we got a tweet saying we would get info...3 weeks later we got Ovechkin mo cap...Then we got a tweet saying we would get something else...2-3 weeks later we got a feature set... Then last week they said we would get a gameplay video...We got a less then a minute teaser trailer.. I have taken the advice of others on here saying that the game is a little over 1 month aways be patient...I am doing that but they don't make it easy when they give us next to nothing.... Come on already...When do the NHL camps start anyways??

I agree, but I don't EA's do the game justice or they wouldn't be releasing the new showing what the hardcore fans have wanted. We can only hope 2K will do the same and soon.
