Madden 2010 News Post

There won't be a Madden blog next week due to us all being out at E3, so with this being Memorial Day this blog seemed very fitting to make up for it. Enjoy!

"Hey Madden fans - just wanted to drop in with a bit of good news and show an upgrade that we've added to Madden NFL 10 - and that is the addition of the USAF Thunderbirds!

These elite pilots make a guest appearance in our Super Bowl and Conference Championship games, buzzing over the stadium at speeds exceeding 300 mph, leaving a nice trail of smoke in their wake."

This is actually more where I'm leaning currently. Though accurate that there are flyovers for most all open stadiums in many games, we are going for more of a broadcast feel rather than a "you're there" feel, so if we show it all the time it will not be special at all during the big games. Networks don't often show the fly over as part of the broadcast unless it's a really big game.

I agree Ian. This is a special feature and it should be for special games. Its a nice reward for playing franchise as well.

I said pretty much the exact same thing on the previous page...I agree 100% with you. Keep the moment special.

BTW, did you drop a hint there with the "character (i.e. a coach)" comment? Is this the year our head coaches return to the sideline in place of the 3 raisin head coaches or better yet, in addition to, the 3 raisin heads?

Well said. You don't see them anthem for non-playoff games unless it's a REALLY big game. The networks are too busy showing commercials and the talking heads, usually the first real on the field shots are the game play. (Except maybe showing the occasional, "Well, here's a key player" *cut to QB*)

This is actually what I would prefer..anything more is overusing it..And I think a nice reaction from the crowd would be the perfect touch.

Not bad, Ian. You may have finally topped the greatest presentation moment in the history of video football gaming:

Well after reading some these last few posts Ian. Even though I would like to see fly overs for panther home games. If that happen everygame. It would get old pretty quick. I think I'm like some of these guys ideas about just keeping the fly overs special. For like monday night games and coference champship games and the superbowl. To where it would not get old a season are two.

I agree... Opening Day and maybe Sunday/Monday night games? Teams only play a few a year. Every game would be excessive.

This is sweet, but why not every game or at least half of the regular season?

Dolphin Stadium (errr, Landshark) has a fly over almost every week.
