NCAA Football 10 News Post

EA has posted another NCAA Football 10 blog. This one covers more Season Showdown.

Quote:
"Last week we focused on the structure of Season Showdown and touched on a few of the ways you can earn Extra Credits. This week we will focus on one of the three main pillars of Extra Credits that center around gameplay, which is the Skills category.

Simply put, Skills credits are earned by showing off your skills on the sticks. Your ability to perform these skill moves will earn you and your school extra credits. You can’t rely on the CPU to perform these actions to get the credits, you must be the one that got the interception or forced the fumble if you want the extra credit. So if you are using the new Defensive Assist feature, which puts the player you have highlighted under CPU control as long as you are holding the A/X button down, you can let the CPU guide your player to where they need to be, but to earn the credit you will need to take back control of the player and make the play. As you will see in a moment, a majority of the Skills events are defensive based, so if defense isn’t your strong suit, Defensive Assist will be a great way to put you in a position to make plays and earn credits."

Undwhelming video....DE's need to get up the field faster and Jacory Harris needs to have a darker skin tone!

The blogs are for the hardcore NCAA gamers, and the hardcore gamers don't care about Season Showdown. I don't get it.

+1 - agree completely!

I was almost there with player lock, but to me this suffers from the same thing that made me yawn about Campus Legend... the angle is not close enough. I love the effort here, but it's not enough.

If I want to BE that player, I need to have a closer shot than that. Player lock doesn't convince me that I am really that player.

On the plus side, I did see some positives. I'll check out the demo.

CocaCola must have parked a dump truck full of money in front of the studio for such a small feature to get so much hype.

Screw you guys. I want to get rewarded for what I am doing before the ball is snapped.

I've been playing these games for years and believe me, I want those points!
User pick? Hell ya I'm getting points!
User sack? Getting paid and getting points!
Wide open gameplay is gone! Let's go Sportsmanship!

Its so rewarding just getting rewarded with points

++In all seriousness the gameplay from the vid was cool.

I didnt want to say anything but at first I was thinking these clowns accidentally left R.Marve on the U roster. But then i saw the #12 and just shoke my head. I dont want to pile on becuase this is going to be a rough week for the dev. team they are going to get killed until they drop some info of str8 FIRE!!

One of these days EA will get smart and hire a coaching staff to assist the devs. Bring in some quality position coaches to work with them position-by-position, show them where they've screwed up in gameplay, schemes, and strategy, and coach up the devs and the motion capture actors so we get a great, realistic game instead of this. This latest vid still appears to have the same problems that have been with the franchise since the next-gen systems came out. Still can't get something like screen blocking right. And I guess we have to wait until NCAA 11 to get the Madden 10 player movement and momentum system.

Give me a break NCAA team, "play like real life football" because you gain points for sportsmanship...Here's an idea, why not just fix the actual game like the Madden team has done? Stop trying to push this stupid thing down my throat. Sorry, but..

HUGE FAIL

Gameplay looked very sketchy as well

This this this this this

I'm still withholding judgment until I've actually played the game, but I've said for years they've needed some sort of consultant for both football games.

"That's the big thing..we need to reward the guys that are good at playing the game."

"We want to reward people for what their doing after the ball is snapped."

Thank goodness we'll be rewarded now. Before I never cared that I got INTs or won the Heisman, led the league in sacks, or for any accolades within my dynasty. In fact, I have no idea why I played because without SS there to reward me for what I do with the sticks, it was just pointless. Thankfully all those things matter now that I will gain skill points.

Careful...I don't think EA understands sarcasm too well

So that blog was basically explaining what a TFL, big hit, FF, sack, pick, swat, catch, and a passing TD is and that we can get points for each... Wow... Good thing they told me all that because before I didn't know you could force a fumble by hitting someone hard...

Video showed some good gameplay though. I saw a good pocket but I in the Michigan vs ND (I think) there was WR/CB stuff that just looked stupid.

To the poster who wanted it in.

My thoughts on this are... well let's just say...

My mom told me if I didn't have anything nice to say I should just keep my comments to myself.

I love it, all this hate. anyways i do agree with all of you guys, if they would have spent this extra time creating and promoting SS on gameplay or presentation the game just might be little bit better. as far as the video, the game looks to play the same other then Oline blocking, new QB drop animation that still needs to be slow down and some new animations. well What can you expect from producers that looks like they've never played a down of competitive football in their life.

Seems like EA doesn't like Miami. Always overrate FSU and Florida. Heck, even UCF is overrated. Plus those videos they made Miami look horrible, whoever was controlling Jacory Harris ran into those sacks 100% of the time. If you are going to show off a game, don't make it look stupid and make the QB run right into a sack.

Nothing else to talk about since SS is all the blog was about.

Oh, and if you are the best rapper alive, then how come I have never heard you before? I don't recognize you at all.....
