Sorry but I just had too just could not resist so here goes some flaming------> .

I have no idea how that term come about but back in the 80's when we saw a wrist bender we said stuff like flame, flamer or flaming.

I do believe it may have came from the word flamboyant.

Ok guys back on topic I just couldn't resist on that one!

A little off topic, but I'll ask this question anyway:

Russell, was this the last patch for MLB 2009? If not, could we use this thread to make a list of things that could be addressed in a final patch?

I believe they confirmed previously that this would be it. Don't quote me on that, though.

I went ahead and loaded it tonight since I pitched a no hitter once and had no highlights, and it would have been nice, so I couldn't resist.

I haven't had a problem so far after playing one franchise game that was already started pre-patch.
The Highlights are working fine now, even if you press x during the game when the highlights show up.

So far so good....

Off topic here, but I the announcer in one of my games claimed that Kaz Matsui was now the all-time hit king and made quite a big deal about it. I need to check his career stats and see if it is messed up (these are newer rosters) or if it was just a strange glitch with the announcer.

Anyone ever hear this?

this is gonna sound wierd but post patch first game I played almost every time I swung down with x the batter would not swing thru just check swing even though I was holding swing button. It would do this for low strikes and balls. wierd. I am going to try to switch controllers. This has never happened to me before, anyone else?

Hey guys, just came on to check out patch news. I played the game this morning after getting the new patch but ran into a problem.

My RTTS crashed in the offseason of my first year, I think around the same time people have mentioned. It was the day after the first starred day in the calendar, which was for contract negociations with players who don't have contracts for the next season.

I certainly hope this wasn't the last update, because if it is, I fear the same problems exist.

Rawdeal, if you feel like it try this:

Next time you play and it starts an in-game highlight (not just an in-game replay, but one where the MLB the Show logo comes on, and they "flash back", press X to skip it. Do it everytime an in-game highlight comes on, especially the very last time one comes on. Then, when the game ends press X to skip through everything until you get to the part with the post game highlights.

If you still don't have any problems, then you don't need the patch.

In my testing, it seemed like skipping the very last in-game highlight/flashback was the most important for the replays not working. I had skipped earlier in-game highlights and it did not seem to affect the post game highlights, but the last one skipped always did. For the longest time, I thought I had no problem with highlights either since I watched everything usually.

Post-patch #3 (mini-patch), the highlight problem appears to be fixed.

Does anybody know whether the patch fixed the freezing issue when trying to save multiple copies of a replay? I was hoping this fix would be included in this patch, as I believe this issue was supposed to be fixed in a previous patch.

I love this game, SCEA and everyone associated with this game. Period.

That being said - I REALLY don't understand the logic here. The lineup issues and more importantly the DL issue are huge obstacles to the enjoyment of franchise - yet the SCEA team spent time and energy addressing the replay issue? I just don't understand the priorities here. I am at a point in my Franchise that if I loose just a couple more players to the DL - I may have to restart my franchise because I won't have enough people to field a lineup..I could care less weather replay works or not. (and it worked just fine for me by the way - pre and post patch) I am dissapointed - really dissapointed.

That's all I got.

Well I think the DL may have been by design or it works as it was intended to. The Replays worked prior and then were broken with the patch. I think there was an obligation to fix something that was working fine before the patch.

I am glad the replays are back, I thoroughly enjoy them. I hope they address the DL and DH fatigue issues with 2010.

Was this supposed to happen? SCEA what did you do??? My game is broken now.

JK Thanks for fixin the highlights. I like to watch them at the end of my games while I finish off my cold ones. I'm glad they're back.
Cheers!

That's hardly the case, if you followed the patch 1.06 thread you probably would have realized that. The thread was full of petty little attacks against Sony or anyone who dared to claim The Show 09 was a great game despite it's flaws. The quote from Russell you highlighted was making light of the inevitable attacks that were likely to follow, based on the previous thread.

Ok. That is cool. People would not flame if they would fix a few minor errors. This is a great game. I love it regardless of a few errors, mainly the lineup glitch. Traded in my 360 to get a PS3 because I missed this game so much from the Ps2 days.
