If you can get yourself in a store with a PS3 hooked up to a HD display, some stores like BB and Gamestop will have the game already open for the store copy. Ask them to put it in for you, and use the, "if it impresses me I will buy the PS3 and the game right now" pitch on them.

They will do it for you, and I tell you what, it would be one of the hardest things to NOT do, and that is buy the system and game on the spot. I spent 20 minutes with it at the store, walked out with the PS3, extra Dual Shock, and MLB 08. And 09 has added so much things, it is sick. Just the way the outfielders take the routes to the ball, is unprecedented (read: innovative) within itself, it is like watching a thing of art.

The only thing that would prevent you from buying it, is the lack of funds... cause if you have that cash, you will be sold.

Yeah I believe you, that's what caught my eye and I noticed a lot of the little things from those vids. Even the sounds of ball making contact with the bat sounds good. Damn I don't want to do this right now, just bought a car...........I can purchase at the base exchange and save some tax........I can't believe I'm contemplating this........

There is something about this game that is so authentic, maybe it's the stadiums and how it feels like you are really inside them, or the animations which seem so smooth, or the sounds of the crowd, the play by play, etc. What an awesome looking game..............

You get a PS3 and I'll send you a copy of the game

I promise you man. PROMISE, you will be enthralled in this game. It will consume you, and wont ever leave the PS3 all season long. No matter what awesome game just came out. You will be annoyed that you cant get in more than 1-2 games a day cause you have to sleep to work in the morning.

It is that damn good. You will see little things done, that you cant possibly believe made it into a sports game.

I was a doubter, but man, not anymore. These guys (SCEA) are good, damn good.

See that, you can NOT beat that. These guys just plain rock.

I would jump on that like white on rice. A developer sending you a copy if you buy a PS3... take it, and brag to boot!!!

Awesome on you Russell!

LOL, yeah I think I will check it out in the store first, I have the funds but I'm very frugal, except of course when I really really want something. The videos along with all of you guys raving about the game is really hard to resist.

I felt the EXACT same way you did. I was a LOT like you last year, so much so it is scary.

I went in the store ... played 15-20 minutes in a day game at Fenway, Beckett against the Yankees ... walked out with my hands full. No joke!!!

I Know that area well, I usually take 40 east when I want a nice scenic route on my way to Jersey/New York. Lot's of hills and beautiful farm land to look at. It takes a little longer then going straight up 95 but well worth it.

Holy Cow!
I think we're about to witness the reunion of LONG LOST BROTHERS!
The similarities are amazing!

Eddie1967.....first name Eddie...born in 1967..

Jim416....first name Jim.....born in the year of the Lord 416 A.D.

Setting up your screen names like that!..
Coincidence!...I think not!
