I love to see the liveliness of parks like that, but don't they close off Sheffield and Waveland for games? Or is that only for playoffs or something?

Me too.

Yep Jim, cloud speed and direction is determined by in-game wind speed and direction. As are flag directions and speeds...;-)

I'm not sure if developers or anyone tried to give us an ultimate clarification, but yeah the day games have static lighting. This is the first gameplay video of the finished version I've seen, so I guess that's all I can really go off of.
[begin ultimate clarification]Yes, due to time constraints, the daytime games have shadows locked. The time of day varies stadium to stadium but generally we choose something that looked good in that particular stadium, between 1pm and 4pm. It was dissapointing, but the change over to global lighting took us a looong time. We had to make sure all the dusk to night transitions looked perfect before we could go back to day. Its first on the list for next year. We promise! ;-) [end ultimate clarification]

Thanks Pat!

..and I'm glad you picked what looked best rather than one specific time for all.
Does that change during the year(the time picked?)....meaning...you again picked what looked best later in the year as opposed to earlier?

Thanks...

LOL... Jim I wouldn't count on it. But I kind of have a feeling you were being a little sarcastic.

Thanks for the clarification Pat. Yeah, I knew I wasn't going crazy when it felt like most games were "later" (we had a long-winded debate over what time of day the day games were lol).

Thanks for the clarification. Hopefully it gets in next year!

For some reason I only remember one person having a long winded debate about this!

I was the only one with long-winded posts, but several contributed.

Does IGN not have a preview copy? Both this one and Steve's video look like they were produced by SCEA. Not that that's any big deal - it's still awesome.

Wrigley looks fantastic.

Wrigley looks fantastic.

These were done by SCEA, they handed them off to these sites I believe.

Impressive video. I had no idea the clouds were going to move and this was the first time I noticed the cars driving outside of Wrigley. Love the attention to detail.

Thanks for clarifying Pat, disappointing no doubt, but I think we'll have enough to keep us busy until MLB 10!

I apologize for the misquote Russell...

If something "does" happen, then we're definitely going to be surprised, but I won't get my hopes up.

I apologize again Russell...

WOW, I don't own a PS3 but watching this and the other video makes me want to purchase one just for this game. There is something about this game that is so authentic, maybe it's the stadiums and how it feels like you are really inside them, or the animations which seem so smooth, or the sounds of the crowd, the play by play, etc. What an awesome looking game..............

*blinks*

*blinks again*

*wipes eyes*

Where is Eddie, and what have you done to him you heretic?

LOL! I kid of course.

In all seriousness, you would not regret it. If you watch how real the crowd is moving around, leaving their seats and scooting to the isle (yes they actually walk like you would with people in your way, and then walk normal in the open isle).

Amazing details, where the stadiums feel so alive and suck you in. And what I was trying to explain on the 2K board, where they felt cookie cutter and, yes they look better than the past, and they are move animated, but are stuck to their seats (and stand, sometimes all at once and looks odd) and that's that.

You would love the game. Trust me. This game last year made me a believer. Many remember me being so adamant and in huge support of 2K, but as soon as I bought this game ... lets just say that it speaks for itself.

Yeah I hear you. I know I gave you some grief on the other side but man you are right about some things. It looks like a lot of fun but still very authentic. I looked at that video and I was like what the hell. I can kind of see how people are going nuts about this game. There is nothing like playing it I'm sure but the videos promote this game very well.
