"VG247 has learned that Microsoft intends to release Forza 3 as one of its major 360 titles this holiday.

The game has never been confirmed by the company, although it was heavily involved in the Intellisponse leak fiasco last June.

Intellisponse marketing concepts hinted that the game may feature a Collector’s Edition, DLC, over 100 tracks and 400 cars."

Turn 10 Weekly Pit Pass Report

Quote:
"All this blood and sweat translate into what anyone here at Turn 10 can download to our Xbox 360s on a daily basis -- ever-improving builds of our new game, which, isn't just shaping up to be greedy handfuls of eyecandy, but is also proving to be really fun and addictive as well. In fact, the test team has already thrown down the gauntlet here at Turn 10 with weekly challenges to find out who's the fastest in the studio. Trust me, it's not a challenge to be taken lightly around here and folks have been taking turns stepping up to the task in the team space and setting lap times in the public team space with force feedback wheel in hand. Me? I'm hungry for more eyecandy. Every new build brings delicious new ways to consume the gorgeous assets in the game. Too much of a good thing? Pfft... yeah right.

But we here at Turn 10 also live in dual-realities. On the one hand, we're working hard on our new game. Lots of cool stuff happening behind the scenes and awesome features are getting implemented here and watching the project evolve in real-time before my eyes makes me feel really privileged."

more than 400 cars with accurate in car views is quite the accomplishment. Kudos to Turn 10 on what looks like another incredible racing game. I did like the shot they took at Sony though in the presentation. 2 current gen racing titles out while GT5 is still in the garage.

Wow, this and Modern Warfare 2 are going to be taking up my entire winter break. Can't wait for this one, loved playing Forza 2 online.

Gameplay video. Shows the car roll-over from inside the cockpit. Also, it's visually leaps and bounds better than Forza 2.

Well, this game looks spectacular -- no doubt about it. And that's great to know that Turn 10 actually listened and incorporated the in-car view for Forza 3. I was also hoping to find out information today on if that new Xbox 360 steering wheel will feature clutch pedal support for this game, but oh well.

I wonder if the Drift events in Forza 3 are based on the real world Formula D or D1 Grand Prix series of events. What will the Timed Events consist of? And what to make of Circuit de la Sarthe at Le Mans? Will there be a legitimate 24-hour race mode included for this track?

The truth is FM3 is even MORE of a sim than FM2. One of the big physics improvements we've added is real-time tire deformation and wall flex which directly affect grip threshold. We'll be doing deep dives into all of FM3's new sim features in the coming weeks and months.

So this game will have tire wear, eh? Adds a lot more intrigue to endurance races. I like it!

Keep the good news coming, Flawless.

The only thing that bugs me about the game is that it appears to be only 8 cars on a track at a time. Hell even GT5 will have 16 cars (If its ever released)

Man, it would be a crying shame if Forza 3 doesn't include more than 8 cars in any online and offline races. For me, that would be a huge negative for the game that outweighs many of the positive things that are going on for it.

While Forza's AI has always been good, there's now an AI pressure system. This is an additional layer to the Drivatar system (which learns from your racing style). If you're riding an AI driver's tail on medium difficulty, he may feel the pressure and make mistakes. Yes, you can actually sweat guys now. On the higher difficulties the other driver may not be impacted by the pressure in the same way.

Also greatly improved is the career mode which is ridiculously large. The new career mode features calendar-based seasons. These seasons are controlled by their own AI and are fully dynamic. The game analyzes the types of cars you enjoy racing, the car classes you dig, your skill and more to determine which races you'd like. According to Turn 10, it will take hundreds of hours to exhaust the dynamic scheduling. As for the season mode, it's timed to get you fully immersed with all cars, etc., after about 50 hours of driving time.

Perhaps the most promising area is one that won't be discussed by Turn 10 until closer to release. User-generated content was a big part of Forza 2 and it's going to have a larger role in the sequel. User content is the area Turn 10 is pushing most.

While Turn 10 wants to keep its user-generated content plans under wraps for a few months, we did learn a few nuggets. The idea for this new system is taken from YouTube. Most people aren't out there cutting their own videos, creating something great for others. Instead, the majority scan YouTube looking to enjoy others' creations. Turn 10 will provide the tools for making awesome liveries, but they can't suddenly make you creative. What they can do is make it easier to find awesome custom jobs for downloading.

Those are just a few of the big things coming to Forza Motorsport 3. Far greater detail on the career mode, user-generated content and the under-wraps multiplayer elements will be examined over the coming months. Stay tuned. We will have lots more Forza coming.

Not anything I really want from the CE.

That's a pretty good movie showing the yellow Porsche 911 GT2 in a race. However, I would like to see a movie where someone would race with Traction Control and Stability Control assists off just to observe how realistically the cars behave on the track while being pushed to its limit. Can't tell much from the handling of the car while seeing it constantly wiggling around like it was in the movie.
