that developer is a total BS artist. When asked about the choppy walk up animations to batting stances he just plainly said "i don't think they look bad" and ended his answer...

Man, that actually felt like a 9th inning, I like how the crowd was. I would love to see a closer game, which is more intense. Like to see how the crowd would react and the players. Hope the next vid is like that.

Stewart's post-game reaction was definitely curious. He didn't appear to be all that happy about hitting a grand slam and leading his team to victory.

It reminds me of the cut-scene animation from last year when a player on the bench would go angrily shake hands with a teammate and the teammate who's face you could see made it seem like he was talking the guy off the ledge.

Yeah, one said that and another dev said they were working on smoothing it out.

The way batters snap into their stance looks so ugly. This has to be fixed.

Care to give examples? Seems like you are one of the few who feel this way. So I am just curious as to why.

The umpires and base coaches stay out there too. You know, just in case they decide to play 2.

Does need to be fixed though.

Also, did you notice the majority of the crowd standing BEFORE Stewart's Grand Slam?? Would have liked to hear the crowd noise with the bases juiced and right after he made contact. Nice touch as long as it wasn't just a replay trick.

I totally understand the need/want for realism. I kinda used to let the littlest thing that was wrong bug me. Now I just take them with a grain of salt. I think I finally realized its a video game. Everything will not be perfect. I am in no way saying anyone's opinion is wrong, but sometimes I think people just expect to much.

In my absolutely honest opinion this looks and feels no better than 2K7, and thats from someone who desperately wants to see two great baseball games each year in order to push each other.

Lets put it this way...you can really tell its VC's first attempt at Baseball.

He is just a troll, he was also like this in the Show forum when the videos first came out

I think that's called "hit and run". You know, make a negative comment then scatter before someone calls you on it. IMO what we have seen so far is leaps and bounds better than 2k7/8. It blows them both out of the water.

I'm using someone else line, but care to give examples.?

Best thing in that video...during the endgame highlights there wasn't any of that awful lag/chugging that has existed the last 2 years. Because of that video i'm now 100% positive there is no lag in the game

The faces and player textures look very PS2-ish, and to me it just doesnt give off a "feel" of Baseball, i know its hard to convey that from watching videos but thats how i see it.

I played 2K7 a lot and the graphics in that game were a landmark for Baseball games, to me it looked better than these 2K9 vids do.

No doubt this game will be a million times better than 2K8 (it would have been impossible to get any worse really) but i really see this as a very experimental first stab at Baseball from VC, that said....there is a lot of potential in there and i would hope in the next 2/3 years VC can bring that out and fine tune it.

Why was the Rockies dugout upset even though they won?

Fair enough, I played 2k7 and 2k8 extensively and I liked them both, but after seeing these videos I could never see myself touching those two again. The atmosphere in this game especially that real time thing is brilliant. As far as the player faces, I guess I don't get into that much. There can always be improvements but I'm just happy that the presentation and the game play looks to be a major improvement from my point of view.

I agree with you about 2k7's graphics, but other than the graphics I thought 2k7 played like crap. To many home runs, no hit variety, not even a steady 30 fps, and a host of other things. I think because the graphics were so good people look back at it with a skewed point of view. Then again, that's just my opinion.

is it just me or do the gloves look horrible?

No, they're pretty aweful. They look inflatable...lol. There are plenty of things still wrong with this game (and some minor things worse) but overall the improvements are very noticeable.

Like a few have said, for a first year in a new direction, it looks pretty good. The better news is though, I don't think that VC will drop the ball in year two in this turnaround like Brinkman and co. did last year.

There's reason to be hopeful for this series, IMO

Yeah, the game looks very playable this year. The swing happy cpu batters are a little concerning. I would think pitch counts are really low for the user because of this. I would hate to have to pitch crappy on purpose to combat this.

My 2 favorite things so far are the presentation and the commentary by Thorne.
