News Post

Hello Everyone,

In our communication to all of you before the launch of NBA LIVE 09, we said that NBA LIVE 365 would be “Made Fresh Daily.” This will certainly be the case, but I wanted to update everyone on our current status, because there are lots of questions being asked around the community concerning NBA LIVE 365 and when it will officially “turn on.” Last night the NBA season officially kicked off. Six teams played, and the NBA LIVE 365 information was received and is ready to be pushed in-game for all of you to enjoy, but in order to accurately reflect what’s happening in the real NBA in NBA LIVE 09, we need the data from EVERY NBA team once they finish their first game.

The last NBA teams will play their first game on Thursday (10/30). To accurately reflect what happened for every team’s first game in NBA LIVE 09, we’re going to turn on NBA LIVE 365 on Friday morning (10/31) for everyone that input a code on the insert inside the NBA LIVE 09 packaging. Once every team plays their first game, you will see your daily changes as promised.

We’re terribly sorry for the inconvenience, but we really wanted to update the community on what our current status is. We thank you for your overwhelming excitement and continued interest for this feature, and we promise that you’ll be pleased with what’s reflected in-game based on the real NBA season. It’ll be a long, enjoyable journey for all of us to enjoy!

Thanks,

The NBA LIVE 09 Team

There were questions earlier, even one I posted myself, on whether or not the DNA would change daily with the new Rewind games. I was told that they would only change every ten days or so from the Live developers. However, after checking out a few different Rewind games as well as the Play Now DNA percentages for each player, it seems as if each player's DNA changes with each Rewind game. (That makes sense) The DNA for the regular Play Now games, I'm assuming will be the DNA that changes only every 10 days. All that being said, is this a correct assumption?

And, forgive me if this has been completely clarified as I have not checked this thread in a couple of days.

Rewind DNA is specific to that particular game.

For the regular 365 updates, DNA and Tendencies will change every day. It's just like a scoring average; if you drop 50 one night your season average will change. DNA works the same way. What you see every day is the current 'average' of all the games that player has played.

The 10 game piece is for hot/cold streaks. Synergy needs to look at the recent history of a player to decide what their current streak is.

Great job on this stuff... But It seems like you guys are skipping over the questions about players starting and coming off the bench out of position... There have been at least 4 or 5 questions/comments made about this with no answer...

Any ideas base or steph??

We can't always catch everything my man.

We're looking into this, stay tuned. I just wanted to point out that the player positions / starting lineups are being fed to Synergy directly from the NBA.

If you look at NBA.com's box scores, you'll see that our lineups mimic exactly what they're feeding out. Obviously there are some errors there which we're currently working on correcting. Just wanted to shed some light.

All right, thanks! I now have a full understanding of what's going on with all of this amazing new technology. This truly is revolutionary and I'm already anxious about what you have in store for us with next year's release.

Thanks Base! Can you elaborate on the "Hot Streaks" or "Cold Streaks" ? What will that do exactly? If a player is on a hot streak, does it raise his shooting percentage? Raise his overall? How exactly will these streaks affect players?

You must download the OKC DLC in the XBOX LIVE Marketplace or PSN Store.

X360:

- Turn on your console without a disc in to load the XBOX LIVE dashboard
- Go to the furthest blade to the left and select "Games"
- Scroll to NBA LIVE 09 and select it
- Download the OKC DLC

PS3:

- Go to the PSN Store
- Select "Games"
- Select "Add-ons"
- Select NBA LIVE 09 and download OKC DLC

A problem has popped up:

Ellis has been suspended by the Warriors, which allows them to use his roster spot. The 365 update has no way to account for this so he has been bumped to the free agent pool. If you're starting a dynasty make sure to assign him to the Warriors before you begin (you'll have to cut someone - Rob Kurz was the replacement, I believe).

There are two different streaks Synergy tracks. The first is a shooting streak (cold/cool/normal/warm/hot). This looks at what is 'normal' for the player and then looks at their shooting over the last few games to decide what streak they should have. We tweak their shooting rating based on what their streak currently is.

The other streak is 'impact', which measures overall play. This is for examples like if Camby pulls down 20 boards and 5 blocks for a few games, we boost his overall ratings a little bit.

Whoever is doing the player look update needs to work a tad harder. They gave George Hill a gray hair spikey looking do. It just looks......weird.

Needless to say he looks NOTHING like that.

Whoever updated his playing position to point guard, thank you.

I play a rewind game with my Raptors vs. Golden State. Stephen Jackson's at PF and Al Harrington at SF.

I know it's minor, but it's annoying.

I suppose Synergy and EA need time to work out the kinks.

Yeah I mentioned that a few times along with some others and this is the response that I got...

Oh definately.. I am also, but it just seems like it should be simple enough to have everyone playing the correct positions.. But I am pretty sure its not as simple as we may think..
